"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

J&J Contractors I LLC was established in 1983 and is owned by Marie Cyborowski and Jason Cyborowski, Mother and Son. We are an Interior and Exterior Home improvement company that serves South-East Wisconsin. It has been our dedication to customer satisfaction that has been the key to our success. We pride ourselves on a long-term relationship with our clients, an assurance that can only come with years of experience. "Service and Quality you can trust"

"On recommendation from our son, we chose J&J Contractors to put a new roof on our house and garage. We met with Dave Bartz our project manager, and we were impressed with his willingness to work and ensure that our project would be managed properly and exceed our expectations. We agreed on the scope of work, and were informed on how each step of the project would be completed. All of the workers were professional and courteous; and the clean up was excellent each day. We are extremely pleased with the finished roof, and highly recommend J&J, Dave Bartz and the entire work crew. Jerry and Janice Hempel"

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Terrible company. Possibly a scam. They attempted to sell me a part they didn't even have, and after waiting patiently for OVER A MONTH, I canceled my order. When calling them to confirm, they told me they never had the part to sell to me. What a joke!"

Family business that opened in 1950. Free delivery and hook up of new appliance. Free haul away of your old appliance.

"Invasion of Privacy and Damage to Furniture: The purchase of the machine went smoothly. We had used Ritzman Appliance before to purchase our dryer. The delivery men arrived on time and were polite and the installation went quickly. As they were getting ready to leave, one of the men told me how “difficult” it was to level the machine. “We used shims to level it.” I paid them for their services and they left. I went to check the machine and that is when I noticed the shims they had used. One, or both of the men, had taken it upon themselves to go into our PRIVATE STORAGE area (which is in a completely separate area of the basement) use two pieces of finished wood (for our children’s bunk beds) and use them as shims. They DID NOT have permission to go into this area of our basement and DID NOT have permission to use this wood. I was home the entire time and told them I would be available if they had any questions. I removed the “shims” immediately and saw they were now damaged. I called the store immediately and was met with the response of “What do you want me to do about it? They were just trying to be nice. They could have left you high and dry and told you to level it yourself.” I attempted to drive the point home that these men DID NOT have our permission to rummage through our things and use pieces of our furniture. The man I spoke to brought up his “men’s excellent reviews online.” I could not seem to get him to understand the irrelevancy of this, as I was calling about our particular experience. We will not be using Ritzman Appliances again and will be rescinding our recommendations we have made to our family and friends. We understand mistakes can be made. It was the response, or lack thereof ,to our concerns that will prevent us from shopping here again."

"Fast, friendly and fantastic Cam and Adam delivered and expertly set up my new wonderful Speed Queen Washer and dryer today. I wish I would have come to Kettle Moraine Appliance & TV the first time instead of that big box store. Everyone was terrific and I am really happy doing laundry right now. Really Cam and Adam were true experts and knew exactly how to hook up my appliances and so helpful giving me an in-service so I could use the new Speed Queen’s right way. A+++++ job today."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

While smaller appliances might fit in your trash bin, many municipalities and private waste collection companies prohibit throwing them away with your regular trash. Contact your trash collection service to learn how to dispose of old appliances properly. Some companies will pick your items up curbside for no charge or a minimal fee.

No, you should not run two refrigerators on the same circuit as it is likely to overload the circuit and cause the breaker to trip or worse—cause an electrical fire. Each standard-size refrigerator should be on a dedicated 20-amp circuit. You should never plug a refrigerator into an extension cord or power strip as it can cause serious safety hazards. Refrigerators have built-in surge protection that safeguards them from the damage of power surges.

Typically, most appliances last anywhere from 10 to 15 years, depending on the appliance, brand, and amount of use. Keeping a regular maintenance schedule, including cleaning and tune-ups, also helps appliances last longer. Dryers, gas stoves, and refrigerators tend to last the longest, averaging about 13 to 15 years. Microwaves and dishwashers tend to last about 10 years on average.

Choosing a unit with higher BTUs can use more electricity if the BTUs are more than what’s necessary for your room size. However, choosing an AC with BTUs that match the size of your room or house, your unit will cool your space efficiently. On the flip side, choosing a system with not enough BTUs can cause the system to work harder to try to cool the space, leading to more electricity consumption and higher energy bills.

Clean regularly, check for leaks, and schedule annual inspections for safety and efficiency.
