During the tear-off portion of replacing the roof they ripped off a large patch of stucco siding from the side of a dormer. Offered no help for fixing the damage or even recommending someone who could. "Try google" they said. After completion they informed me there was a patch of my siding that might have a problem, but were not able to tell me where that patch was???? Not recommended

Very bad. The Bathroom • The toilet now leaks onto the ceiling and lighting in the dining room and drips onto the dining room table.  Bathroom subfloor (3 layers) has now been soaked with materials from the toilet. (Needs to be replaced.) • The laminate flooring doesn’t line up with the edge of the tub. (Remove, cut to fit properly, and re-install or replace.) • The inside corners of the ceiling in the bathroom were caulked, not taped with joint compound. (Caulk needs to be removed and taped with joint compound per USG standards.) • As there was mold on the drywall ceiling removed, greenboard or mold and moisture resistant material should have been used on the ceiling. (ASTM C 1396, Section 7) Standard drywall was installed. (This should be replaced with USG recommended products.) • No mold abatement was done before installing the new ceiling when there was mold growing on the old ceiling from the roof leak. • Sink and cabinet  Blocking HVAC vent after work was done.  HVAC diverter was not reinstalled after Shelter from the Storm removed it.  Vent is covered by vanity.  Sink was not hooked up to plumbing after old vanity was removed and discarded as damaged.  Vanity sink drain was glued onto sink. (Plumbers putty should have been used per ASTM standards) Sink cannot be returned since glue was used. • Home owner was sent to buy a sink and vanity the night before installation with no direction from contractor regarding size or other recommendation. (Sink and vanity need to be returned and replaced, but sink can’t be returned since drain was glued in.) • No painting was done in the bathroom. Dining Room Ceiling • Shelter from the Storm was to replace ceiling. They replaced the ceiling tiles only, not the grid or light, for $750 when other companies would have replaced ceiling grid, tiles and installed LED lighting for less than $750. (Ceiling, grid, and light need to be completely replaced, but only after bathroom repairs are complete so toilet doesn’t drip on ceiling anymore.) Garage • Lights need to be replaced. (Homeowner will go shopping and replace them to save time) • Not all foam panels were replaced as per contract. Contractor workers said they’d return to replace, but contractor hasn’t returned messages requesting repairs to all issues listed here. • Contractor did not provide storage unit for garage inventory to be stored while working in the replacing the garage ceiling. (I’d like to put things back, but contracted work isn’t done yet) • Garage door opener should be replaced as water dripped through it. Roof • Holes in eave corners and fascia were plugged with caulk rather than replaced to fit. • No check for mold or water damage to interior insulation in the attic was done as I was told it would be. (Attic insulation needs to be inspected and, where necessary, insulation removed and replaced.) Aside from the roof, the value of my home has gone down based on the way Shelter from the Storm left it.

Look elsewhere. I'm critical about reviews and gave them the benefit of the doubt. My mistake. June 27 storm damage to the house. Finally, after many attempts, got a few contractors to show up and give me an estimate. Hired Shelter from the Storm in an attempt to support a local business despite their estimate being higher. I thought you get what you pay for. Nope. The roof went OK, but not completed to expectations. The bathroom and dining room are a disaster. It's going to take, and cost, more to undo what they did and the damage it caused than the storm damage. The bathroom toilet leaked onto the subfloor in the bathroom and drips onto the drop ceiling in the dining room. (I say drips because they won't return calls or emails to fix it for the last month!) The flooring doesn't line up, they had me rent a POD unit, the garage isn't done... nothing is done completely and right. Don't get me started on what they did to the HVAC or vanity. --They get a D rating for showing up, NOT the work done.

They have good workmanship. They stand behind their work if something goes wrong they come and fix it. They were punctual. They even worked in seventeen below weather.

aWe thought it went fine until we found out shelter had put the flashing on incorrectly. We are now in the process of having a new roof installed. We had three bids from well known large roofing companies. Every one of them said the flashing was wrong and would have to be ripped out and done over in order for their warranty to be effective. I checked into it and it turns out shelter routinely installs chimney flashing wrong and it will leak eventually. So now we are paying a second $500 to have the job done correctly. To purposely do shoddy work is despicable. This company is costing people a lot of money because they choose the easy quick way to do chimney flashing.

It was perfect.  They showed up on time, did outstanding work, and insured the work site was cleaned up better than when they started.

Quick and looks good - leaks have occurred. Was contracted through TC Aluminum. One leak from rubber roof due to not putting some pieces back on causing water to leak inside the house and required repair. Another leak has now occurred as they left a gap over my front door as the roof lowered when the new roof was put on. Voiced my concern at the time but was told not an issue - now have water in the entry way

Frank and Rob responded promptly to initial call for inspection. After consultationitwas decided that owner could beal with one issue, that being the indoor repair of closing off a no-longer-used exhaust fan vent. Rob from Shelter showed up a fewweeks  later to do re-sealing of problem area and other general inspection and re-sealing.

Went well,  didn't take very long.  His analysis of our problem was the most economical.  They were the only contractor that didn't suggest much more involved repairs.  And, now, several months later we have not had any indications of continuing problems.

I have a large roof but the crews came in, tore off the old and installed a new roof IN ONE DAY! Very happy with the work but they did leave a little debris behind, nails, old tar paper, scrap wood. I had them come back next day and take care of it.

They did a great job. They were very informative about their products. Frank was very nice and answered all our questions. They had a worker pick up all the trash and nails with a huge magnet daily. They were very clean and all the guys were polite. Our neighbor and a family member also used Shelter From the Storm and were very satisfied/

Turn-key, used underlaymant and ridge venting that I preferred and completed the job in one day. They also cleaned up absolutely all debris afterwards and used a rubber tire dump trailer, which was also prompted hauled away; simply  a wonderful experience and I recommend them to anyone who would appreciate al lof the above.

I cannot say enough good things, Professional, Helpful, Friendly, Thorough, Prompt, Value.
Had a small roof issue, called 6 or 7 roofers, most didn't bother to return the call, some never stepped on my roof, no one except Shelter from the Storm looked in the attic.
Rob was prompt, and looked at everything thoroughly, and patiently explained and showed us everything that needed to be completed.  He was very friendly and knowledgeable.  The quote was sent promptly from the office.
Spoke to the office several times for scheduling, etc, and was always friendly and helpful.
Work was completed on time, on budget.
Very happy customer!

Frank responded very promptly to my email request for a quote. His initial inspection of my roof and gutters (including climbing into my attic!) was so much more thorough than any of the other 4 companies I contacted. While the price for a complete tear-off (2 existing layers) and full gutter replacement, was not the lowest, it was not the highest I received either. It also included things none of the other contractors bothered to look at. I was careful to make sure I was comparing identical shingles, underlayment, water/ice protectant, etc.
The roofing crew arrived promptly at 7:00 AM on the day promised and had the entire house and attached garage stripped of old roofing, reshingled and my property was cleaned up as though they were never there by 4:30 PM. The gutter crew arrived at 10:00 AM the next day as promised and had everything installed and cleaned up by 2:00 PM.
If all you want is the lowest price, don't waste your time or theirs by calling Shelter.  If you want exceptional attention to detail, top quality materials, and courteous, professional workmanship, don't waste your time calling anyone else!  I only give them an "A" grade because there is nothing higher as an option.

i hate to give this company a bad rating because the guy that came to my house was so nice.  This company came out and Frank was very friendly said it was a simple fix. They said that someone from the office would call me to scheudle a time to fix it. They never called but showed up one day (didn't mind). I payed my invoice but the water leak neve went away. Called 2 time and spoke with frank and both times he said he would send his crew back and never did. Thus, I still have a problem and the company never followed through.
Response from Shelter From The Storm Roofing Inc
"We followed through two additional trips and found the issue to be a cracked PVC elbow pipe in the home connected to a radon exhaust. We changed the pipe at no additional cost and problem was resolved. [member name removed] was never charged an additional cost even though we traveled to the home on two additional occasions."
