Customers say: Quick response

"Setting up an appointment, responsiveness and punctuality were excellent. 19 months ago I had a leak on my residential water main repaired. Unfortunately the main is leaking again. I couldn't recall offhand who had done the work last time but did a quick search on Angie's List and chose A& A. From the moment I called, the experience was excellent. Carrie (sp? sorry) took my call and had me set up and had two techs at my door in less than two hours. The techs, Kyle and Dale were extremely quick in coming up with a price estimate. I don't want to say it was off the charts but.. I had watched the previous tech repair the leak in less than an hour. I went through my records and located the receipt. With a 10% discount, I had paid $270. On this call, A&A quoted me $475 for the same work so unfortunately I did not okay the repair."

"David Lennox was our sales guy. From our first interaction with him we have nothing but good things to say. In fact, several of our friends have so impressed with the work that was done, they are going to look into getting their bathroom done. Thanks again David. "JoseLuis and his crew were fantastic. We had used in many times in the past when we previously lived in San Antonio. After moving back into town we needed to replace the water heater. The plumbers that the home warranty sent us made sure that the water heater was not going to be covered by the insurance. Then the crooks tried to sell us and overpriced water heater along with a water softener system because they figured had just moved from out of town and didn't know any better. Thankfully JoseLuis kept the same number and we were able to get a hold of him. He and his crew came over immediately and installed new water heater half of the price quoted by the other guys. It's so difficult to find honest, punctual, professional contractors! Naturally when it came to remodeling we called JoseLuis and his crew again. Once again they were punctual, on time (even early at times), fast and professional with competitive pricing. Their work was beautiful and they even put our garbage can back in the garage before I got home. You will have a hard time finding better guys than Guys Unlimited 4 Rent."

"The installers were complete professionals. They arrived when they said they would and went right to work. They kept me informed as to their progress and completely cleaned up after themselves. I recommend this company."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Hiring an emergency plumber is expensive because of the urgency and inconvenience, but there are a few things you can do to help keep costs down:

  • Minimize water damage by shutting off your water main

  • Clean up pooling water immediately to reduce damage and mold growth

  • Avoid using fixtures if you have a clog or septic system backup

  • Verify that your plumber is licensed before hiring

  • Call a few plumbers for estimates if you can afford a short delay in getting service

A flue pipe should go straight up from the back of the fireplace to the top of the chimney. Bends or kinks in the flue liner would restrict combustion gasses from flowing seamlessly out of the home, so these gasses could instead smoke up your living room and become a health hazard to your household.

A backwater valve’s purpose is to let the water flow in one direction. It works like a little door that allows water to flow freely in one direction but stops it from flowing the opposite way. A backflow preventer is meant to prevent water from leaving your system, locking out wastewater in the process. Backflow preventers are commonly used by city sewer systems to stop residential wastewater from entering the water supply.

A well-installed wall-mounted faucet shouldn’t splash. That’s why it’s worth hiring someone with experience installing wall-mounted faucets. Beyond the installation, you should carefully choose the right faucet and sink combination. If your sink splashes after installation, you can try installing an aerator, which lowers the amount of water coming out of the faucet.

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, but the actual temperature that can cause frozen pipes can vary. Generally, it takes 12 hours for pipes to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uninsulated pipes can freeze if it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for over three hours. If your pipes are insulated, it can take six hours or longer for pipes to freeze. Note that some pipe types freeze more often than PEX pipes. Copper pipes freeze more often because the copper conducts energy and loses heat quickly.
