I had chosen a sink that was delayed in being delivered because of COVD-19. He worked with us on that and got everything done within the time frame he had given us. "Israel and his team started with a shower pan and tile job that turned out so well, we kept them on board to help us finish a 1949 triplex renovation. Seph installed numerous doors and windows, built a small deck, replaced fences and gates, and resurfaced and painted three concrete patios. "The day the tile wall in my master bathroom collapsed when I leaned on it turned out to be my lucky day—it led me to Joe Maxwell and Tile & Grout Solutions, Inc. Joe and his installer Kiki (a tile genius!) built a beautiful walk-in shower where the tub used to be. That shower became what was until recently the best-built part of the house—now it is joined by the gorgeous porcelain tile floors throughout our downstairs and on our stairs! Joe was a delight to work with from the very start. His estimates were thorough, and he explained every step in the installation process, including the timing and the materials needed. Joe, Kiki, and their assistant tiler Leo were meticulous in their work, and they adapted adroitly to the unexpected—such as when they pulled up some old tile and found a hole through the slab with a water pipe running through it! The only reason there wasn’t a fountain in my entryway that day is because of Joe’s and Kiki’s ears: before pulling up the old tile, Joe happened to drop something on the tile covering the hole. When the thing hit the tile, it went “plink” instead of “thunk.” Joe and Kiki looked at each other in alarm—“plink” indicated a hollow spot under the tile where it should be solid. So, instead of using a jackhammer to pull up the tile, they gently used a hammer and scraper. Fortunately, that hole was the only surprise, and the rest of the job went smoothly. Every evening, my husband and I come home and remark on how beautiful our floors are—we are thrilled! We hope Joe and Kiki can put up with us when it comes time to tile our upstairs! They came in at less than half the cost of the competitors and were able to start immediately. Throughout the project, they checked with us to make sure everything was as we wanted. They even picked up our items from the tile store in San Antonio so we didn’t have to make the drive from Floresville. They pretty much remodeled our guest house in a week.
