"I paid less than half of a bid I got from a company with lots of people and lots of overhead. And I am confident that my project was of comparable quality. Removed tub and put in a high-quality walk-in shower- ½” cultured marble wall panels, custom-made shelf, solid cultured marble drain pan with texture to prevent slipping, grab bars, high-quality double-sliding glass doors. I wish the project had taken three days instead of four but that is my only complaint. Jay and his assistant did a good job. He had some good money-saving suggestions and was easy to work with. He matched the swirls on the wall panels (including the indented shelf!) and made the shower walls flow together. Great job!"

"Paul and his team did an awesome job. They took away the old and brought in the new. They also helped customize the master bedroom and bathroom for somebody with disability needs. It's working out great. I highly recommend them."

"I called Alex to remove existing tile and install new tile on my kitchen, utility room, and sunroom floors. He got samples and prices for me and we selected a rectified porcelain tile because I wanted the grout joints to be as narrow as possible. Alex quoted a fair price and did an amazing job. He and Jeronimo were timely, professional, and very detail-oriented. The layout of the rooms involved step-downs and many odd angles — it turned out better than I could have imagined. I will definitely call him back for my next project."

"I originally gave this company a great review based on the initial service. They did a great job and were very professional. However, I've recently attempted to contact them per my warranty to come back and look at my bathroom floor just to see if there are some spots that might need to be fixed or if it just needs to be steam cleaned. They replied to my initial request asking for pictures and stated they would check their schedule. I sent the pictures but never heard back. I attempted numerous times through email and phone but never got a reply back. Even though they did a great job it's disappointing they do not stand by their warranty and commitment. I'd refereed them to numerous friends which I will ensure to let everyone know about this and to look for someone else."

"Today, we had the final touches put on our Walk-In-Shower. Calles Remodeling are the best. They kept us informed at every step; when to expect tilers, plumbers, construction crews, etc. Crew members were proficient in their jobs, always on time, and cleaned up when done. All in all, we are very pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Calles Remodeling."

"I am very happy with my floors. Jose was very prompt to respond to all of my questions. I ended up buying the wood on my own and having them install it. They were very helpful and helped with the delivery process. I had my entire house done in 2 phases. The install crew was great. They were prompt, professional, did a great job and cleaned up when they were done. Both times the finished significantly ahead of schedule. I highly recommend them."

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.

Acid can seriously damage granite countertops and lead to etching and erosion. This is why cleaning with vinegar isn’t recommended. Other acidic items that you should keep away from your granite countertops include:

  • Citrus

  • Acetone nail polish remover

  • Tomatoes

  • Ammonia

In addition, always steer clear of using bleach on or around your granite as it will degrade the countertop’s sealant quickly.

Buffing is a less expensive and less time-consuming alternative to other floor repair techniques, but it’s only ideal for removing surface-level scratches and damages. Floor-buffing machines work to gently smooth out the floor’s top layer rather than removing it the way that sanding does.

This process is ideal for gently worn floors, but it won’t have the desired impact on floors with severe damage. On the other hand, sanding fully strips the floor’s top layer so damages beneath the surface are accessible to remove or repair. Since the process is more involved, it requires more time, tools, and experience to achieve the best possible results.

Yes, you can generally put hot pans directly on a granite countertop without worrying about cracking, as it is a durable, heat-resistant stone that can withstand high temperatures. However, it is still highly recommended to use a trivet or hot pad as a precaution. Prolonged or repeated exposure to high heat can potentially cause discoloration or damage the countertop's sealant, making it more susceptible to staining. Additionally, the heat from a pan can transfer to the granite, creating a burn hazard for anyone who touches the surface shortly after.

There are a few ways to remove calcium buildup in your pipes, but the most natural option involves vinegar, baking soda, and boiling water. To use this method, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain you're trying to clear, then follow it up with 1/2 cup of baking soda. Place a rag over the drain to create a light seal and leave it for 30 minutes. Remove the rag, then pour a pot of boiling water into the drain. After the water drains, wipe everything down with a sponge.
