"What an amazing experience I had! I recommend Chellyanna to all my friends looking for a remodel or addition. Two things stood out which I think made Chellyanna stand out from the other contractors I have dealt with: 1) Timeliness- We showed Yossi around the house before we closed on our new home. The day after we closed they already started demo and never looked back. The stream of skilled workers never stopped coming until the project was done. Drywall, painting, plumbing, electric etc. were all done without delay. 2) Responsiveness - Yossi was always available to answer a call, tweak the project or answer our questions. We always felt that we had someone we could turn to and the entire process was extremely transparent. You will not be disappointed!"

Customers say: True professional

"Tip top is an excellent company. I did not know there were still firms out there that took customer service as seriously as they do. They went above and beyond what most would have done to help me make my dream a reality. Their work was outstanding . They finished in two days and left my driveway as neat as they found it. I would highly recommend this company."

"I had a fantastic experience with Robert and his team! They completed a partial kitchen remodel and built a beautiful custom bookshelf for me. The craftsmanship was top-notch, communication was clear and consistent, and their pricing was fair. It’s hard to find a team this trustworthy—highly recommend!"

"I cannot say enough about Immanuel General Contractors (IGC), Joe and his team went above and beyond. I am confident my family will get many years of use from our new shed and that it will stand up to the Texas climate. Should you choose to work with IGC you can expect that Joe will listen closely to your project goals and expectations. You can also expect to benefit from Joe's experience on similar projects, as he made some suggestions that improved the cost effectiveness of my project."

"We are so happy we found Dream Construction! I don’t usually write reviews but this one had to be written. The previous home owners had tacked on an addition to the back of our house before we bought it. In recent years the concrete and foundation of the addition began to crack, causing issues for the entire house. After reaching out to 4 companies for quotes, we ultimately chose Dream Construction to tear down the addition. With it being a safety concern, we had a tight timeline. Joe was able to get the ball rolling quickly and did what he could to make sure our timeline was met. He kept in communications with us and provided honest feedback every step of the way. Because the addition had clearly not been built correctly in the first place, there were a lot of unknowns with our project. Joe didn’t shy away from any of the challenges, managed our additional requests well and stayed within our budget. The safety of our dogs was a major concern before we started this project. It’s hard to keep a construction area clean but Joe and his crew did a wonderful job. While the work was happening there was minimal disruption to our daily lives. I can’t say enough great things about this company and their work. We needed a company who we could trust to do the work right. Dream Construction is definitely that company. They are very easy to work with and care about their customers. I highly recommend them! Joe is already working on a quote for our next job."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

On average, the cost of a home builder is about $150 per square foot, but that price can range from around $100 to $400 per square foot or more. That puts the typical price range of a standard, 2,000-square-foot house between $200,000 and $800,000. Some factors that affect the price of hiring a home builder include the following:

  • Location of your home and the living cost in the area

  • Type of foundation and framing you choose

  • Quality of the building materials

  • Footprint and layout of the house

  • Number of stories

  • Builder’s experience

The average cost to renovate or remodel a home is $52,300, with most projects ranging from $19,500 to over $88,400. However, costs can vary significantly, from as low as $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 or more for a complete home remodel.

Several factors influence the total price, including:

  • Project Scope and Size: The extent of the renovations, whether it's a single room or the entire house.

  • Location: Geographic location affects labor and material costs.

  • Materials: The quality of materials chosen.

  • Room Type: Kitchen remodels ($14,500 - $70,000+) are generally more expensive than bedroom remodels ($1,500 - $5,500).

  • Other Factors: The time of year, complexity of the work, and any additions or expansions.

On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $15 and $60 for standard projects and up to $150 for luxury renovations.

Examples of specific project costs include:

  • Basement remodel: ~$20,200

  • Garage remodel: ~$27,900

  • Loft conversion: ~$20,200

  • Disability accommodation remodel: ~$4,300

  • Major home repairs: ~$11,700

If you are financing the project, note that some loan programs, like the FHA 203(k), may require a minimum project cost (e.g., $5,000) and will necessitate a home appraisal and professional cost estimates. Using a home renovation cost estimator can also help you budget for your project.

Yes, modular homes offer a wide range of customization options for layout, finishes, and features.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.
