"Patti with everything in its place did an amazing job In organizing my closet, garage and kitchen pantry. She helped me in taking all the items I was ready to donate to my favorite charity and brought me back a tax donation form. She also shopped for additional storage bins for my closet to help in being more creative with my limited space. Patti is always a pleasure to work with and is a top notch class act! I would highly recommend Patti with everything in its place, to anyone looking for Organization help in your home or business!"

"Richard was a dream to work with. He wasnt the lowest bid but he was without a doubt the best choice for us. We interviewed many general contractors and he was the one we felt most comfortable with.
He detailed exactly what his crew would do, what it would cost and when it would happen. The remodel was not without surprises just like any remodel. Every issue that came up, Richard and crew addressed and came up with great plans to address. The only issue I had with Richard was with one of his cabinet painters. They ended up having to repaint the cabinets and the finished quality was awesome.
I cant say enough about his crew especially Jose who was so so dependable and meticulous. His carpentry skills were awesome.
I has a few other contractors that I hired to do other work in the house and a couple of them were terrible..... but the Kitchen Pros crew was the best there could be and I recommend them!!!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Plywood offers excellent stability and strength for drawer construction. Baltic birch plywood provides a premium appearance, while standard hardwood plywood offers good value. Solid wood works well but requires more attention to grain direction and seasonal movement.

Built-in furniture maximizes space, offers a tailored look, and enhances room functionality.

Yes, adding a built-in or custom closet generally increases your home's value and makes it more attractive to potential buyers. A well-designed closet adds utility, organization, and a touch of luxury, which are appealing selling points. Most homeowners see a return on investment (ROI) of 50% to 60%; for example, a custom closet can add about $1,000 to your home's value on average. The specific ROI depends on the type, with custom walk-in closets typically providing more value than reach-in closets. However, to maximize value, ensure the closet doesn't significantly detract from the room's usable square footage. Converting an entire room into a closet can actually lower your home's value. Similarly, using overly lavish materials may not recoup their cost. A good strategy is to add a closet that takes square footage from a non-living area, such as a garage, to create a mudroom closet.

Some features and upgrades you can add (some of which increase the closet’s value) are: modular shelving, motion-activated lighting, climate control, custom lighting, cigar humidors, revolving shoe racks, jewelry shelves, custom woodwork, and built-in laundry hampers. While only truly luxury closets have all of these, many custom closets have at least one special feature listed above.

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.
