We're a Land Surveying business located on Long Island. We specialize in a full range of surveying services including: title surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and site plans. We are able to complete land surveys in a shorter time frame and at a more competitive price because we utilize the latest in equipment/technology and are very diligent in our research practices.

"We hired scalice to do a survey of our new home. They sent workers that were new, unsupervised, and did not speak English. The workers broke huge branches off of about 9 ever green trees that were 30+ years old. The company even agreed that the new workers did not properly complete the survey and only offered a small discount on return - no one called, no one showed any compassion. We now have lost much of the privacy these trees provided. I would never use this company again."

"We had Modern Home Concepts refinish double front doors that had been almost destroyed from a previous painter. They worked tirelessly trying to salvage a horrible stain job. They were patient and had great recommendations to get the doors finished for us and looking great. We are extremely pleased with the job they did and the care they show in their work. We highly recommend them."

"Excellent communications. Came on day and time as promised. Encountered hardships finding original surveyor stakes due to tree roots overgrown. Professional attitude and demeanor. Prefers small projects as opposed to big housing developments."

Land Surveying questions, answered by experts

In Raleigh, unexpected expenses can arise from the need to clear thick vegetation or access challenging sites with limited entry points. Homeowners may also face additional charges if boundary disputes require extra research into historic plats or if missing property markers must be replaced. Multiple site visits for detailed surveys or to resolve discrepancies can further increase the overall time and effort required.

Helpful?

When hiring a land surveyor in Raleigh, prioritize professionals with proven experience handling local site access challenges and knowledge of area-specific regulations. Look for clear communication about the survey process, a strong track record with property boundary disputes, and detailed documentation. Asking for references from recent Raleigh projects and ensuring post-survey support can help ensure a smooth experience.

Helpful?

In Raleigh, combining land surveying with upgrades like fence installation, grading, or drainage work can streamline your project and minimize disruptions to your property. Coordinating these services may also help prevent future site access issues. However, if you’re addressing urgent boundary disputes or require a quick property line check, it’s best to handle the survey separately to avoid unnecessary delays.

Helpful?

Raleigh homeowners often overlook the importance of verifying old boundary markers, which can lead to confusion during property line surveys. Failing to discuss shared boundaries with neighbors sometimes results in avoidable disputes. Another common issue is not specifying the exact type of survey needed for their project, which can delay site access and create misunderstandings about the scope of work.

Helpful?

In Raleigh, homeowners should account for the city’s variable terrain, including sloped lots and dense tree lines that may limit site access for surveyors. Be mindful of local zoning overlays, historic property restrictions, and the prevalence of flood-prone areas. Always confirm the presence of underground utilities and check for any planned infrastructure projects nearby that could affect your property boundaries or future land use.
