Michael from Cardinal's HVAC unit came to our home to evaluate possibly installing new flexible duct work in our attic. He was very thorough and professional. And although he spent a great deal of time with us, he did not push us to move forward. We are waiting until late spring to make a better evaluation for new flex ducting after running the A/C with its new settings.

I called on Cardinal Plumbing to finish the installation of a basement sewage pump. I had already purchased the pump and everything needed. I had removed the old pump and put the new one in place, with the PVC already attached. I expected one technician and possibly 1-hour labor based on the items purchased and the work already done. My quote was for $1,465.00. Well over what I deemed reasonable. The quote was quite obviously an attempt to take advantage of my situation and was way overpriced, to say the least. They would not budge on the price and defended it with their estimation of two hours labor for two plumbers. Again, outrageous considering I had done most of the work and purchased all items necessary. I only had some small trouble with the plumbing. I had another quote from My Plumber Plus. It was for $280.00 and it took one technician less than an hour to complete the installation and very clean and professional work. I would never recommend this company and in fact, have told all of my friends and neighbors never to use them. Based on my quote, their credibility is not there.

Shawn was professional and done an excellent job. However the billable rate for two toilet stoppers/flappers and a third flapper with a pressure line test came to 773.84. Shawn was here for about an hour. Parts was probably less than 50.00, labor rate for a starter plumber is 17-25 dollars an hour. Overall 700.00 for the job is over charging the customer. I will not use Cardinal Plumbing again.

Corey Bly was the tech and he couldn't have been nicer or more professional and knowledgeable. He adjusted the thermostat upstairs and suggested getting a new one. He even suggested we would save money by buying a new one ourselves and he would install it for a significant savings. Unheard of in this day and age.

FABULOUS!! Jonathan was amazing. He listened to what I wanted and gave very intelligent solutions. Like a pop up drain emitter to make sure we didn't get any erosion in the back yard or critters crawling into the pipe. Our sump pump was routed through a wall 18 feet away. We had Cardinal drill through the foundation wall right behind the sump pump and route the drain through that wall and into the yard. They also removed the old pipes and patched the wall. If I have any other plumbing needs, I'm calling Cardinal first and asking for Jonathan. I'm so so so so happy with the quality of their work. The cost was a solid middle range price that was well worth it for the quality of the work.

Excellent job by Brian and his assistant. They were professional, hardworking and finished the job even though there were some unexpected setbacks with the installation, which caused it to be a far longer job than planned. They cleaned up and were very respectful of our property, and everything was in good working order. The company was great from the start - a prompt reply to our request for an estimate, and setting up of an appointment. I received several reminders by email and text and a picture of Brian so I knew who to expect at our hose. Will certainly use them again.

Plumber arrived on time and cleared my clog. In my opinion their prices are high, so I will shop around more before hiring this company again. Overall, if their prices are competitive, I would not mind hiring them again.

Excellent support. I have a ventless fireplace that I need to remove and cap the gas line. The staff taking my inquiry understood I needed a licensed gas plumber and set up Miguel and Jeremy. Both were very friendly and took the time to explain what they would do. The job was completed in 30 minutes and they checked my gas appliances to verify things were working as expected. They were very prompt and arrived when they said they would. Highly recommended.

Kitchen sink aerator replacement went flawlessly. Fixing leaking bathroom faucet went very poorly and it took three separate visits before leak was finally fixed. The faucet needed to be rebuilt, but first two techs tried to merely tighten things and wasted our time.

Cardinal Plumbing was very responsive and provides excellent customer service. They contacted me within several hours of my initial Angie's list request and I was able to arrange for a plumber to take a look at our faucet within 3 days. This was not an emergency. Nick, our plumber, was timely and very courteous. He arrived on the early side of our 3 hour window. He quickly assessed the issue and recommended we replace the faucet. Because our faucet was a bar faucet, our options for replacement were limited. Nick was able to provide three suitable options and he was able to order them and return in 4 days to replace the faucet. When we noticed that the base was not secure a few days later, I called Cardinal Plumbing and they sent Nick out that very afternoon to tighten the base. We are very pleased with the customer service, the quality of the repair as well as the lovely new faucet. We will definitely look to Cardinal Plumbing for future plumbing needs.

Fantastically! Very happy to have Zach E. in our home. After this experience, he is our permanent plumber. Very clean, organized and no-nonsense. Price we paid is a tad higher than the price quoted from a different company, the name of which I forgot when I needed to call the plumber. Called Cardinal and could not be more pleased with the completeness of the job and Zack's effective work. He let us know he was on the way, early and was well-mannered and courteous. I wasn't sure how it would go but it was great and we will call this company again, if necessary.

I would NOT recommend Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air as they charged me over double what another plumber would have charged to replace a sump pump. During a rainstorm we had water leaking into our basement so I called them and they sent out a plumber named Jesse. He arrived and said that the sump pump and the check valve for the sump pump were bad. He had a tablet device with him and he showed me the prices for a new sump pump and check valve. He gave me a total of around $990 to replace both which came out to $677 for the sump pump and $312 for the check valve. They don't charge an hourly rate like many plumbers do but charge a flat rate for the job. Jesse said that if I agree to purchase their one year service warranty for $179, he can take off 15% of the price of the two parts so that if he takes off 15% ($148) and then adds the $179 back on then I really end up paying only $31 for the service contact. But all he did was jack up the price 15% and then says he is taking it off....all smoke and mirrors. I had no idea about the cost to replace them and since this was an emergency I told him to go ahead and do it. So the total with the $179 warranty included came out to $1019 plus change. He finished the job in about an hour and then pulled out his tablet again and I signed or initialed with my finger on the in places where told me to. There was a lot of legal jargon that I really didn't have time to read so I just took Jesse's word on what I was signing. It was very frustrating in signing on the tablet with the very tiny type that I couldn't read. He left but did not give me a receipt or proof that the work was done since it was all on the tablet and said a copy of what I had just signed would be emailed to me the next day. He left and I had no proof of what I had just signed and didn't feel comfortable about this. The next day I received the receipt and started looking over the prices. I did an online search at a major home improvement store and was floored by what I found. The 1/3 horsepower sump pump that I paid $575 for sells for only $125. The check valve for the sump pump that I paid $265 for sells for only $25. I understand that plumbers are going to charge more than what I would pay at a home improvement store but not mark-ups of $450 and $240 respectively. I felt I had been greatly overcharged so decided to call another plumber and tell them what I needed done and see what they charge. I called one that had good ratings and he said that the total to install the two items including parts and labor would be around $400 broken down like this: Sump pump - $230 Check valve - $50 Total labor - $ 114 Cardinal charged me over double of what another plumber would charge for the same thing. I called and spoke with a manger and complained about the charges and asked for a partial refund but he refused. He did agree to refund the $179 for the service warranty since I told him I would never be using them again. Would advise anyone needing plumbing work done to avoid Cardinal Plumbing or you may get ripped-off like I did. Always check a plumber's prices online before you agree to the work. Below is a copy of my receipt showing the charges with my personal information cropped out.

The plumber replaced a few parts in toilet and within 3 weeks the water was not filling up in toilet again. He came back on April 1 and wanted to charge an additional cost to replace one more part . The cost of the first repair was $315 and the estimated cost of second repair would have been $300 plus. For these prices I could have replaced the whole toilet. Prices too high. Company has a low intro fee to come out of $30 - this is a catch because once they get there their price points are excessively high.
Response from Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air Inc

"Truly sorry for your experience. Our price includes all the costs that are involved in the installation. We have competitive pricing, as well as a great warranty coverage for all of our installs and services."

Cardinal plumbing did an excellent job repiping our house and left the site clean at the end. We then had another firm close up the dry wall holes.

The technician explained everything very well. Much better than the previous plumber from another company did the day prior. As a result I saved a lot of money by fixing 2 parts versus replacing the entire hot water heater. However, the cost of these repairs seemed excessive. For about $250 in parts, I paid $1,000. Additionally, he drained the hot water heater and now it is leaking by the drain spout. He will have to come back which will cost me more money.
Response from Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air Inc

"Hi Sir, We are glad we were able to repair your water heater and sorry to hear the drain spout leaked due to the age of the water heater. We are glad we were able to come back out at no charge to you to fix this leak. Thank you"
