"Fantastic. Jeff is a pro. Installation went as described in both locations. He came back Immediately when I had a water gauge issue for my water meter ( installed 7 years ago) and replaced it on the spot. Jeff is professional, punctual, cleans up, old furnace removal and does great work. I’m very happy with my 2 new efficient heaters and hot water heaters! My heating costs are down substantially! I’m glad we chose Jeff."

"John G. did an excellent job evaluating the functioning of our boiler and performing annual maintenance for it. It was his second time taking care of the boiler for us. He quickly answered the minor questions that I had, and he advised what would be cost-effective in addressing the issues that I raised. In both the instances in which John G. has serviced our heating system, I found him to be knowledgeable, courteous, and focused on saving us money, whether on heating costs or future upgrades."

"We were very pleased with the work that the Genove technicians did. They removed our 40-year-old gas boiler and associated water heater and replaced it with a new system. They tested the new system carefully, put explanatory tags on all of the relevant pipes and faucets, and cleaned up well. The team members were polite and worked hard. We had similarly good experiences when Genove technicians came to repair our central AC system. They were knowledgeable and efficient, got the system going again, and the price was fair. We continue to use this company for heating and AC repairs."

"The thermocouple on my gas-fired boiler needed to be replaced, and the pilot needed to be cleaned. The tech was helpful and forthcoming with information. Took about an hour, as my boiler does not have easy access. Would hire again!"

Customers say: Quality work
"Petros and his assistant got to my house quickly, diagnosed the problem and gave me some options. They fixed the problem quickly and went the extra mile to install a new cleanout in my basement so it would be easier to snake the drain in the future. Petros took the time to explain what he had done and why. He was very friendly, easy to deal with and he charged me a fair price. I will definitely be calling Floros Plumbing from now on!"

"We have been completely satisfied with the new gas boiler. Rob was able to show and compare several models and assist us in the one that would be most efficient and meet our heating needs.

"It went very well - from the initial talks with Chris Zaremba until having Matt & Trevor do the installation - all was done professionally and with lots of attention to detail. They worked very hard - the job took 6 days. I have had lots of contractors over the years and Morris Heating and Air Conditioning is easily one for the top contractors - I would highly recommend them."

"My home is heated with forced hot water and the boiler failed late on a Friday night during a cold snap. Dennis responded immediately, visited first thing in the morning, found the boiler I selected and was back on Monday, finishing the job by dinner time. The boiler, piping, etc was beautifully installed and cleanup was thorough, all for much less than I had been previously quoted. BNM is my new go to, and when my drain clogged a month later Dennis and co came through for us, clearing the pipe at the source, installing a garbage disposal, and fixing a leaky toilet while they were there. He is the best plumber I’ve ever hired, and very pleasant to work with too. Highly recommended."

The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500. The location and accessibility of your water heater will play a role in the project cost, as those sitting in tight spaces like a crawl space will drive up your labor costs.
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
