"Jake and his wife were on time to start the work, set up scaffolding and performed in a very professional manner. Because I don't know much about this kind of work, Ileft it to his expertise. I've not tested the fireplace as I had problems with the damper, but he said the draw was good and the only problem was that the chimney was socold as it had not been used in several years and using it a few times would correctany problems with draw.Although a permit was not required, the city inspector still came out to look the jobover at the outset, and stated that in his opinion, Jake was a professional who knewwhat he was doing.Jake also does tile work and I had planned to hire him to work on a bathroom."

"We were pleased with the quality of the work performed, especially how the metal caps turned out (they had to be ordered and cut to size on site). The owner, Mr. Duga even replaced skylight seals at no charge."

"Bryan called and was able to come early! Bonus! It wasn't a big job, the gas fireplace kept going out (and then coming back on) and needed a good cleaning. Bryan was quick, clean and the glass is so clean I can see the flames again. Double bonus. Answered all my questions. Will use again."

"It took some time to schedule due to rainy fall weather, but once they got in it was completed quickly. They took down and cleaned all the gutters and replace the leaf guards. They also spotted the flashing issue where another contractor had replaced chimney brick but did not go all the way down to good brick. I happily paid extra for one person to replace the flashing on the brick, he did an excellent job. No leaks all winter ;)"

"I'd advise anyone wanting to hire Honey Do to read through the responses this company has made to negative reviews on angieslist.
The guy doing the work (Yuriy) overslept and was a couple hours late arriving. John let us know about the glitch. The work was done well. I think the guy doing the work dawdled a bit, but it was hot and I completely understand he might have needed to take a couple breaks. He wasn't the most congenial person I've dealt with, but he was also quitting smoking and working in the heat so under the circumstances this was also understandable.
The bigger issue here was that I emailed John multiple times about this job (6 times according to my mail client). He never responded. When I finally decided that my emails must be getting sent to his spam folder (as he's alleged in other responses to complaints) and called him, he knew exactly what work I wanted done. At this point I thought to myself, "Ok, that's a little odd, he must just be really busy, got the emails, but hadn't responded yet.". He promptly got me a rough estimate for the projects I was proposing and scheduled Yuriy to come out and install the awning and give everything a once over to make sure the other estimates were accurate.
At the end of the day Yuriy told me that everything looked good and that I should schedule them to come back out once all the pieces for the other projects arrived. I received an email from John later that afternoon confirming that he'd talked to Yuriy and that the 2 additional projects of installing the banister and moving the washer/dryer looked like they'd be the same as estimated pending some photos he hadn't gotten yet. I was impressed at his quick response.
We left on vacation and by the time we got back a week later our banister had arrived; I emailed Jon to let him know and asked when they'd have time in their schedule to fit us in. By the time I checked my email the next day I'd received 2 emails. The first chastised me for not replying to his missive after the awning was installed, the second for not responding to the first email. Something about the tone rubbed me the wrong way especially after the earlier trouble I'd had emailing him, so after considering, we decided to discontinue our working relationship with HoneyDo. I would expect a professional at this point to reply with a terse "I'm sorry you feel that way" or not reply at all. Instead we got a condescending message full of words in caps emphasizing that he had never received ANY of my earlier emails, that maybe I misspelled his name or they ended up in the spam or trash, which would be completely credible except that (as I mentioned before) he had known what work I wanted done when I called him so he must have received at least one of the emails I sent.
So that was my experience. I'd recommend these guys if you need straight-forward fix-it stuff taken care of, but I can easily see working on a larger project turning into a nightmare."

"They gave me several bids and I accepted the one for the stucco work on the outside of the chimney. They’ve been here two days and they’re going to finish tomorrow. I also got a bid for painting and he came out with the painting contractor today and I accepted that bid. They’re going to start painting the exterior later this week. They have been responsive and they have given me low bids. I have compared their bids to others and they are very competitive. He’s a general contractor and he has subcontractors doing various things for him. I had him look at my kitchen and he gave me ideas about what he can renovate there as well. He’s got plumbers and electricians and everybody."

"Structural solutions returned my call right away and came out and inspected the chimney and provided an estimate on the patio. I appreciated the time they took in explaining the steps and procedure of installing a brick patio in language I could understand because I know nothing of masonry."
