"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. "My home had two pathways on the north and south sides of our house that we had put in ourselves. The north pathway (rock & cement) was very uneven and moss had made it slick over time. The south pathway was a gravel path with circular cement steppingstones where the stones had shifted position over time. There was also a cement slab off the driveway leading to the gravel path. Both the north and south pathways were uneven to walk on or move anything across its surface. After 29 years, it was time to replace both pathways. I happened to encounter System Pavers at the Portland Outdoor Living Show and contacted them. Design consultant, Lidiana, kept her appointment promptly, she was friendly, and provided good selection choices, lots of examples, and brochures on how I could redesign the pathways. I liked the fact that System Pavers seemed very professional, reliable, and willing to guarantee their work and paving projects. Therefore, I proceeded with signing up for the pathways to be replaced by System Pavers. It was about a week or so later that the project manager, Matt, came out to assess and verify the plans and measurements initially done by Lidiana. I encountered delays in scheduling (a week later from what was originally scheduled) so I had to reschedule all my appointments in order to clear my schedule so I could be available for the crew while the construction was in progress. I wanted to be on-site at home in case there were any questions. The materials for the job were delivered on a Wednesday to my driveway, several days in advance of the work starting, and I was concerned about the materials (i.e. theft concern) since the crew didn’t start until the following Monday. Once the entire project was completed, there were about 2-1/2 pallets of materials leftover that the crew advised were going to the “dump” and I was asked if I wanted any of the leftover material. For this reason, I question why too much material was ordered considering both the design consultant and project manager took measurements of the existing pathways before ordering the materials for the pathways project. I was NOT credited for the excess materials. Which is why I am giving a rating of 4 not 5 stars. The 3-man System Pavers crew started on a Monday and took a week to complete both pathways by the end of the week on Friday. The crew’s start times varied at the start of the week but by mid-week they started about 8am. The crew worked very hard and even worked in the pouring rain on one of the days. From lifting and removing the old steppingstones & gravel, using a jack hammer to remove the old concrete and rock path, removing the dirt & gravel, etc.; the crew did a great job of tearing up and removing the old paths. Then the 3-man crew worked tirelessly to install the layers (gravel, cement, mesh, bricks, polymer sand, etc.) to build both north and south pathways. The crew tried their best to clean up the rocks, dirt, and debris on my driveway as best as they could. Herman even did a great job in moving two of the sprinkler heads so they would be out of the pathway to make for a more aesthetic appearance. I appreciate the crew answering my questions (i.e. Rodger) and being very accommodating to my requests while the work was in progress. Project Manager, Matt L. was very professional. He ensured that the crew did not disrupt or cut any underground cables nor damage sprinklers in place. It gave me peace of mind knowing he was on top of that. He responded to my “text” questions promptly every step of the project. I’m ecstatic about the look of the new pathways… they both look fantastic!! The new pathways really improve the look of the yard. What a relief too, to finally be able to walk on an “even” path. I’m so glad I had System Pavers replace the pathways. Overall, I’m very pleased with the new pathways and the quality of their work. I would recommend System Pavers for their paving work."

"I contacted Area Heating and Cooling after our AC stopped functioning on 6/22/21 Due to the hot weather and high demand, they were unable to schedule an appointment until 6/28/21. The technician confirmed that the blower motor and capacitor were shorted out and needed to be replaced. He also provided a verbal estimate of $1,100 to complete the work which seemed somewhat steep to me not knowing what the repairs entitled. I was charged $160.20 for that first Service call and was left without AC on that day when the outside temperature went up to a blistering 114° which was the hottest day ever recorded in Vancouver, WA. Another Technician came to perform the repairs on 7/2/21. Replacing the blower motor and capacitor involved removing 6 screws of the blower cabinet cover, 4 screws of the blower motor assembly, 3 screws from the motor bracket, 1 nut on the blower motor collar to remove the motor from the blower housing; another screw on the strap to remove the capacitor, removing the wires from the capacitor and motor and putting everything back together in reverse order with the new motor and capacitor. The verbal estimate ended up being $1184.70 with tax for which I paid and received the invoice 2 days later. Since Area Heating and Cooling never provided me with a written estimate of the repair, I was not able to look up the parts beforehand and left only to accept the verbal estimate, but what can you do when you can’t find someone else to make the repairs. High heat, high demand so..? High prices? Hoping to find some justification on the invoice for the high cost but the invoice only listed: Non stock blower motor repair $800.00 and non stock capacitor repair $300.00. First of all, it’s not a repair but a replacement. Second, The first Technician on 6/28/21 replaced the capacitor which he had in his truck but since the motor was dead, he removed it. How could this be “Non Stock” if it’s in the truck? I looked up the manufacturer website on line and was able to find reference numbers for the parts that had been replaced and found a motor between $150.00 and $264.00, the capacitor is available from $15.00 to $30.00. Apparently there is a markup for labor but a 300% to 530% for the motor and between 1,000% and 2,000% markup for the capacitor. This is robbery! I am not planning on contesting the cost with Area Heating and Cooling but the least I can do is post this review to warn potential customers of how this company conducts business."

"I called Dan's Top Notch when my furnace, which is located in the attic, started leaking water through the ceiling. Kyle showed up and after he looked at the system told me he wasn't certain what the issue was. He called someone and sent pictures of our furnace then told me there was nothing he could do. The system wasn't installed properly and needed to be replaced then charged us $102 for that advice. When I asked how much it would cost to fix it he wasn't able to quote me a price but told me someone else would come out to give us a quote for a new system....By the way that's $102 for the advice. This was a service call and even if the system should be replaced either fix the system or tell me you'll have to come back to finish the job with additional parts. There was no other option because he told me he couldn't do anything else. We started talking about payment and it became pretty obvious that it was going nowhere fast and Kyle was nothing but the unqualified guy in the field and arguing with him was pointless. The funny thing is I had Dan's Top Notch out the preceding 3 years in a row to conduct annual maintenance/service and cleaning of the system which according to them includes checking that the system is running at peak efficiency. Nobody ever mentioned the system was installed improperly and nobody ever told us the system needed to be replaced even though they were looking at the furnace which was what ultimately failed. I will never use Dans again and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST ANYONE EVER USING THEM!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND THEY HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN DOING RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! BUYER BEWARE"

This business was started in 1993 By Danny D Reude. At that time Dan had been in the heating trade for over 10 years. Today 23 years later, we are still going strong thanks to our customers.

"I called Dan's Top Notch when my furnace, which is located in the attic, started leaking water through the ceiling. Kyle showed up and after he looked at the system told me he wasn't certain what the issue was. He called someone and sent pictures of our furnace then told me there was nothing he could do. The system wasn't installed properly and needed to be replaced then charged us $102 for that advice. When I asked how much it would cost to fix it he wasn't able to quote me a price but told me someone else would come out to give us a quote for a new system....By the way that's $102 for the advice. This was a service call and even if the system should be replaced either fix the system or tell me you'll have to come back to finish the job with additional parts. There was no other option because he told me he couldn't do anything else. We started talking about payment and it became pretty obvious that it was going nowhere fast and Kyle was nothing but the unqualified guy in the field and arguing with him was pointless. "It went smoothly. They always kept in touch with email's & phone calls. They called 1/2 hour before scheduled time to say they were on their way. The laid down mats to protect my floors. The cleaned out the insert and vacuumed all around so not to spill any debris into the room. They were worth every penny. They said the stove was about 600 lbs. They carefully explained about the EPA needed proof that the stove was removed & destroyed which I had no idea it was needed."

"I have been a faithful customer of Grassi’s for 5+ years. They’ve installed 3 systems for me and serviced 4. I am a small business owner in town and don’t take negative reviews lightly. As of today, Grassi has lost me as a loyal customer. Over the past 6 months we’ve had consistent issues with a couple systems (5+ call outs to 2 properties). To their credit, since the units are under warranty they say they will warranty the parts. Even still we are at $1,700+ costs thus far. Today, our tenant was cold and turned on the heater. It is 60 degrees outside. Grassi is charging for another callout as the units that they worked on within the month threw another code. Their technician, Cody, called us and told us that this is an operator error, blaming our tenant for their machine malfunction, as these are “not designed to heat when the temperature outside is above 60”. These are the only heat source for the house as recommended and installed by Grassi. What is our tenant supposed to do? I don’t believe this is an engineering issue as I have more faith in Carrier (the brand installed) or my tenant, who deserves to be comfortable. My take is that this was either poorly installed or poorly recommended. When asking more questions Cody, the technician, told us that we knew nothing about refrigeration and hung up on us."
