DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen? of Greater Fredericksburg provided excellent service and support throughout the entire remodeling process.  Steve Everett, the General Manager, planned and negotiated all aspects of the project from start to finish.  We were new to the process, so Steve explained all options and the implications of the various choices.  He made recommendations based upon the quality and durability of the options.  He regularly visited the work site to ensure excellent service.  At the final stages of the project Steve personally performed detail work, to address and resolve our concerns. 

All of his subcontractors were excellent.  They arrived on time, protected the interior of my home from any and all debris throughout the process, and were courteous and professional.  Initially the subcontractors laid down a plastic cover for dust protection.  They put floor runners in place between the work area and exit door.  These stayed in place throughout the project.  The subcontractors cleaned up and removed all debris.

 The contractor who handled installation of the shower valve, shower outlet, and handle bars checked with me regularly to ensure proper placement  of these items,  The tile people went a step above the contract requirements and put a corner seat in the shower for me!  The glass contractors explained out to properly care for the shower enclosure.

"Pierpoint Construction does everything with excellence and attention to detail. Their employees and subcontractors are very trustworthy and I never hesitated to leave them in the house which saved me from having to take time off of work. Since we had never done any type of extensive renovation it was a new experience for us, but they were very good at outlining the timeline for the jobs and keeping us updated on any changes. The materials that they use are very high quality. At the end of each day we would come home to a clean house - or as clean as possible - as they sweep and clean up every day. "I ended up NOT utilizing any aspects of the purchased Deal at all. The American Home Contractors representative indicated that I should request a refund from Angie's List on the original Deal. I contacted AHC for an appointment in mid-August, but they could not see me until September 21st, which was later than desired. The AHC rep did view the work required and provided an estimate ($2,950), but did not perform any real work. The actual gutter removal/replacement and repair was apparently performed by a subcontractor crew which came the following day. The work done by the subcontractor was satisfactory and the crew of two was professional. But the battery on their truck died and I had to give them a jump start; they nearly forgot a small generator they used before they left; and they left a pair of tin snips in the grass which I fortunately found before I mowed the lawn. The AHC estimator warned me the price would probably be higher than I expected; it was, but I really don't have any standard of comparison - most of the work I have done by home repair folks ends up costing more than I expected/wanted. However, I was IRRITATED by a $250.00 "Maryland Service Charge" noted on the final invoice. I called the AHC office and was told that "they add this charge on all of their contracts". This Service Charge just seems to be a way to pad their bills, and I was disappointed that by this rather obvious ploy. However, I was writing this message mainly to see if Angie's List would refund my $125.00 Deal purchase since it was not used."

"The project has taken more time than anticipated due to material and subcontractor availability. The framing work was outstanding. Wall board work was also outstanding. Electrical work was very good, but the location of a bathroom fixture and chair lift power plug had to be moved because they were too low. The tile work in the bathroom (shower and floor), computer room (floor), entrance (floor) was outstanding, but I'd rather call it amazing. The plumbing work was very good, but parts availability delayed completion. Finishing work done by MJL was outstanding!!! Anthony is a master at detail. The rigor of MJL inspection of work by the subcontractors was very thorough and when issues were identified were recorded and worked off. Communication and follow up is a big deal for home improvement projects in this challenging environment of material, parts, and workforce shortages. MJL excelled in communication. We rated punctuality as good but would have rated them very good if there was an option. We highly recommend them. We have since booked two additional projects with MJL, a screened in porch and a garage redo. They start in late July. We expect both projects to go very well."

"Our townhouse community is 30 years old and is starting to show it's age regarding certain roof trim design faults. Sunshine had already done work for several of our neighbors and came well recommended. Unlike many other roofing/siding companies, they did not insist on a minimum price for the work; adding in the group discount, this saved us more than 33% on price. They showed up promptly to provide an estimate, and were ready to start the next day if we wanted (we didn't, we were waiting on another bid). When they did get going the following week, they were on-time, and worked efficiently. If their subcontractor hadn't misunderstood the work order, they would have finished in one day. As it was, they had to return two days later to get it right; it took several calls to the company to communicate the fact that job wasn't done yet. The problem may have been linguistic, since the subcontractor foreman spoke very poor English. In any event, the final job was done to our complete satisfaction."
