"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"The crew was punctual and worked quickly and with as little mess as was possible . They left a clean job site at the end of the day. They completed the job within the timeline and more importantly within the budget. With most renovations there are occasional surprises and the crew handled them with ease and continued on to completion.
The Project Manager and crew were in my opinion outstanding. I would not hesitate to use them again.

"Eric and crew were polite and we are very happy with the work they did and results.  The new windows make our sunroom a more inviting place to relax with friends and family. Also we are pleased with the recap of our front entry.  Both projects looks great and enhance the value of our home.

"A water pipe broke upstairs and did considerable damage. Lemus Contracting had to take down the kitchen cabinets and rebuild the drywall ceiling and walls, then put everything back up. The drywall all had to be repainted. The same type of work was necessary in the bathroom. They were helpful in proposing solutions to various problems that arose during the reconstruction. Finally they had to dry things out to prevent mold and also replace some of the laminate flooring which had been damaged in other rooms. I found them to be conscientious and punctual in their work. I have used them for other projects since then with similar results."

"Alex was FANTASTIC! He helped us design our kitchen layout and made recommendations. He never tried to oversell us and was very frank...which I have a GREAT appreciation for! He was at the house when the cabinets were being delivered and stopped in during installation. If you have concerns or aren't entirely happy with something he will make it right as quickly as possible. We have worked with a number of contractors and no one has come close to his level of customer service. He even brought us a bottle of wine and cheese when it was finished:)"

"I called them the first thing in the morning.  Tech came within a few hours, and helped me get door to work temporarily while new panel was ordered.  He was very nice and helpful.  He came back with the part the next week and installed it quickly."

"Bret and his team were fantastic! They took an otherwise blank and empty space and turned it into the basement of our dreams. Everything was done from Framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, installing railing and creating a beautiful bathroom and built-ins. From beginning to end, Bret and his team were a dream to work with!"

"We've worked with Nelson and his company before. Once again they did a fantastic job! Quote process: Nelson evaluated several concerns I had with the exterior of my home. He provided suggestions and clearly described what our problems were and how he would fix them. There was also a problem with my gutters that I had him evaluate. He explained the problem, but said it was a job better suited for a company that specialized in gutters. I appreciated his honesty!!! It took less than a day to complete the job. They did outstanding work. I was not home that day and Nelson called to tell me he needed access to an electrical outlet. Since I don't have any exterior outlets on my house, he waited for me to call a neighbor to give him access. Nelson was pleasant to work with and very professional."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Regular meetings, reviewing drafts, and providing input on materials help align the project with your vision.

If your project is complex, it may make sense to hire an architect to draw plans. An architect might also be a good person to hire if you want to ensure your plans adhere to building codes and regulations.

You likely need to hire an architect for your new house design and build, unless you have the design skills and experience with building regulations and standards needed to get your plans approved. If you are able to meet the design requirements, you can hire a draftsperson to create the blueprints for the builders to follow.

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.
