Best gas log pros near Manquin, VA

"We recently hired Shamrock Chimney to repoint the brick walls on both of our bay windows and our front steps. We also had them perform a safety inspection and cleaning of our gas fireplace. Mr. Juan Ortiz was the company representative, and we found him to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. The repointing took approximately 7½ hours, and the results were exceptional. They carefully removed the old mortar, and the new mortar was matched perfectly to the existing brickwork. The bay window walls look like new again! They also completed a thorough safety inspection of our gas fireplace and did an excellent job cleaning the glass and fireplace. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew. I would definitely recommend Shamrock Chimney to anyone needing chimney, masonry, or fireplace services."

"The boiler repair job was done timely and well with several helpful features added in the course of the repair.
The geothermal job was awarded after a total of six bids were evaluated. This contractor was neither the lowest nor the highest bidder, but the one that had the most expertise. Several suggestions were offered during the bid process which upon further evaluation (the internet has a wealth of information to use to double-check and inform) proved to be advantageous. In addition, this was the only firm that stated they would perform duct efficiency as well as structure infiltration tests as a part of the job. This step yields objective data to aid in sizing the system. A followup duct test is done at the end to assure that duct work meets or more preferably exceeds industry standards. In these regards and others, this firm closely follows procedures which are recommended in published "advice" articles.
On the day scheduled for "tear-out" more men than we might have expected arrived on time and were introduced by name. They all turned out to be friendly people who otherwise would be welcome to come around. Where needed, protective coverings were put down--they were always very fussy about having things covered even when advised that in a particular location it wasn't necessary. The tear-out was promptly accomplished and the mess well cleared during which there was a friendly team work that was a pleasure to see.
The installation began shortly after with only certain of the men we had met before since this work was more specific. It took about three days and the same work attitudes continued. The system was started at the end and worked quite well even without final tuning. This turned out to be important because before they could return to put the final touches in place, we had a hurricane which caused a large tree to fall on the house. There was significant damage but we were able to remain in the house while repairs were accomplished. However, some of the work on the new system had to be undone so other repair work could proceed.
Goodman has been very cooperative and helpful during the whole process such that the system has never been a problem and we have been comfortable throughout. In addition, we have gotten to know some of the service personnel and most of the office staff better than might otherwise be the case. We have found them to be very customer oriented, friendly, and interested in doing a first rate job.
We recommend this firm without reservation."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"They suggested that we needed to do a lot of work on our chimney and warned of fire if we did not do it immediately.  I was disappointed with the hard sell."

"Tyler did an excellent job. He quickly assessed the problem and resolved it. He was very professional and courteous. I will use Log Doctor again if I have any issues with my gas fireplace."

"We contracted with Kitchen Doctors to remodel our kitchen... ?including taking down the wall between the old kitchen and the dining room and making the entire space the kitchen. Kitchen Doctors led us to Classic Granite and we were very pleased. ?At one point, after the granite was in, the plumber was here installing the new gas stove and it wouldn't sit in the island properly because the granite was hitting a screw on the sides of the stove. ?Jim, Kitchen Doctors, called Classic Granite and within an hour 2 guys were at the house with the appropriate equipment to shave a hair off the granite so the stove would slide in. ?They were very accommodating and did a beautiful job."

"The work went very well and they were able to take care of most of it during wait times that came up while painting the basement floor and walls. I'm very pleased with the results and glad that they made an effort to re-use parts that were in good condition when appropriate. The visible work (like the dryer vent) looks very nice and they made sure to consider building codes as well as my desire for placement of the appliances before they made the connections. They have many years of experience between them and I felt very confident that everything was done properly and well. As with the painting work, they were very considerate of my home and didn't leave any mess behind."
