"Concrete Smart did a fantastic job on the back patio area. They were quick to get an estimate, get us scheduled, and get the job completed. They gave us a competitive rate, quick with any communication, and very professional. So glad we went with them for the job!!! Thank you again!"

"Rudy & his team did a MARVELOUS job in "recreating" the look of my backyard (I don't recognize it lol). They replaced my old fencing and removed an old and poorly built pergola and removed and replaced decking floor with concrete. I would recommend (and have) R&D Concrete!"

"Job was completed very well. All the rain didn’t help, but the Tip Top team worked through the adversity and overall did a great job. I am especially happy with the extra wide reinforced gate! Sweet job!"

"First I want to commend Art with his communication skills in translating my vague descriptions into something better than I imagined.  I only wish my hairdresser could follow directions as well.  First there was two phases of leveling the area after a thorough cleaning and drying.  The work was not rushed as weather was a consideration.  The base concrete was carefully applied and dried.  The molds were applied to the last layer.  I was given a choice of many colors for the "sandstone flagstone."  The final results looked better than any other examples I have seen.  The sealing coat is one giving it a slight sheen.  I can put any color pot and it will blend.  The whole process took about a week.  We are having our front walkway done next.

"Everything went very well, but the installers forgot to look at the direction that the planks on my other wood flooring were running. Fortunately, I caught it in time and asked them to please remove what they had started and run the planks the other way. They did and everything else went smoothly. I love my new floor and would recommend the company to others."

"To say "above and beyond" does not really cover it. We were considering other flooring companies -- including the original installers -- and I am beyond thrilled that we went with Nick and Cavalier Flooring. Nick was incredibly responsive -- even taking the time to respond to a multitude of texts at 10pm -- so patient through all of my hemming and hawing, and truly guided me through the process from start to finish. Not only that, but he offered a solution that could potentially end up saving us money. Who does that? His installation team was superb, and I felt extremely comfortable having them in my house, knowing that they knew what they were doing, but that they would take care of everything as well. (In fact, we were alerted about a strange person milling about the property within a matter of minutes of the incident.) I can say with absolute certainty that we would not have ended up with the floors that we have now and they. are. BEAUTIFUL. We get major compliments from all who see it. We absolutely love the way they look and the attention to detail that went into the installation. Oh...and they finished a week ahead of schedule. Around holidays. During Covid. Bravo, Cavalier Flooring!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.

Unlike staining concrete, painting concrete often results in chips and peeling over time. You can expect numerous touchups over the years if the concrete is in a high-traffic area. Since concrete paints are opaque, you may also find it more difficult to get the exact color results you want. Lastly, painting concrete can make it much more slippery unless you mix in an additive for traction.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.
