Builders Carpet and Design Center is a third-generation family company serving the Dallas Metroplex since 1982. We have proudly provided flooring including hardwood, tile, natural stone, and carpet to many of the area’s most prestigious builders and retail customers. In 2001, we saw a need for quality flooring to be offered in the East Texas community leading us to open a store in Tyler. This allows our customers to purchase quality flooring and outstanding service without traveling to the closest major city. Our most popular floor covering is solid hardwood. Builders Carpet offers a generous selection of oak, hickory, and maple in the latest color and styles as well as producing textured hardwoods to suit any client’s taste. It looks ok, I do not think he used padding under the repairs. Leaves a gap. I had older carpeting so I wasn't expecting it to look new, I think it needed padding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Builder’s Carpet and Design Center and we are very pleased with all of the work they performed and the products they installed in our home. Jonathan Markum was outstanding in helping us to select the best flooring and carpeting options for all of our rooms. He was super professional and extremely knowledge. Jonathan was also very patient with us through the entire process, answering any and all of our questions and always returning our calls quickly. If you need new carpeting or flooring for your home, go see Jonathan. Jose also did a great job refinishing our wood flooring.

While this was a very small job compared to the large jobs done by Builder's Carpet, we were still treated very well.  Cherrie helped us pick out carpet that would look good as a rug and that would last through the heavy use of having kids (ie, it was stain protected).  She quickly submitted our order for processing and within a few weeks we were able to pick it up at the loading dock.
The folks at the loading dock were equally easy to deal with.  We very quickly loaded the rug, and cut some carpet padding and were on our way.

Ended up in small claims court, installers walked off the job, belittled and cursed at by  employees and owner of this company.

"We’re sorry to hear you still feel we walked off the job. As was discussed, the initial disagreement over how to cut the staircase carpet was entirely our fault and something that should have never happened. Any type of disagreement should be immediately discussed with the sales representative so that a solution can be made. I truly apologize for my installer’s behavior in this matter. However, everything that happened after the disagreement was out of our control. You spoke with our entire management team for several hours after the incident to try and calm you down but you were only interested in yelling at everyone you could. I pulled the sales representative working with you off the showroom floor to come to your home to speak with you but you refused. You locked our installer out of your home and I had to contact the McKinney Police Department to escort me to your home three days later to recover my installers tools. I'm sorry my installer started an argument but you spoke to our entire team and no one could calm you down to try and make the situation right. We are not perfect but we stand behind our products, service, and installation and we did everything in our power to complete the job. You simply would not let us."

The installation went very smoothly  They came, they measured, they installed and they cleaned up when they were thru.  I am very pleased with the carpet and working with Cherrie was very nice.  She is knowledgeable and efficient.

I’ve used them for several years. It went well, but not as excellent as in the past. They’ve lost some of their people and they are not as well-staffed as before, and they’ve also had some changes in how they do business.  Scheduling was very easy and the crew was outstanding. Their subcontractors are great, but the person I was working with made some mistakes.

It went very well and they were very helpful. I worked with Harriet and she was great to work with. She even gave me her cell phone number so I could call her anytime.  The showroom is beautiful. They have a huge selection to choose from and they help you choose how much you need.  I had to exchange some tile and they were wonderful to work with.

They were wonderful.  Scheduling was very easy and they came out within a week.  The crew was very professional.  They worked the entire day and worked very hard.  I was amazed at the quality of the service.  They are very trustworthy, hardworking, and have a great variety of flooring to choose from.  They were very well priced and we got a great quality carpet.  Even though I'm no longer in the area, I still recommend them.

It was very easy to schedule.  It took around four hours to complete the job.  I like that they moved the furniture that they were very careful, and I also like the quality of the carpets for the price.  I have pets and kids and the carpets still look new.

We scheduled the service, and they wanted to change the appointment, but we unable to do it then, so they started the work when they originally said they would. It took two trips for the job to finally be done.  We didn't stay at our home that night and when we came back the next day, there were still strong fumes in the home.  You could also see streaks where they applied the stain.  It wasn’t smooth and level and was puddled in some places.  We called them and they used a subcontractor to sand everything and to reapply it again.  The second crew didn’t use as harsh of chemicals as the one before. However, the floor was still uneven in spots from the particulates embedded in the varnish and they also got some of the stain on the trim work so they had to come back out again for that.  I wouldn’t use them again or recommend them due to the workmanship and the excuses.

Excellent service from start to finish.  I initially went to the showroom on Alma Rd. and really didn't know what I wanted.  After talking with the sales staff I was ready to make a selection but was encouraged to take a large sample home to make sure of my decision.  I was very impressed that I was trusted with their product sample with no promise of ordering the floor.   The measurement and estimate went very smooth.  The entire process took exactly the amount of time I was quoted (4days) with excellent results.  After the initial job was completed I had a starter stair step installed to match the floors.  The installer matched the stain perfectly.  I am very pleased with Builders Carpet and Design Center.  I will definitely do business with this company again. I was pleased to support a locally owned business.
