Customers say: True professional

"The RFD team was excellent from sales thru execution. Rose and Fahad ensured timely communication and their team executed our plan as designed and with precision. They built our iron deck railings on site to ensure they fit our old 55 yr old house. They are just beautiful. We were so happy with their work, we employed them again and will continue to as we remodel this old house. Highly recommended."

"No question about it, Deck-O-Art is an excellent hardscape contractor. My project included a completely new drainage system for my backyard that ties into the pool deck. This drainage project solves a decades old water penetration issue at my house. Phase 2 was a complete and total renovation of my 40,000-gallon pool, including deck equipment, electrical, etc. Finally, my circular driveway was renovated from pea gravel to beautiful tile pavers, that included concrete dividers that really make it pop. The final result was so outstanding, that I hired Deck-O-Art to renovate a second pool and outdoor kitchen at our country getaway home. I thought that they couldn't beat what they constructed at my main house, but I was wrong. It is simply beautiful, and the new upsized outdoor kitchen is fantastic. You just can't go wrong with Art Manase and his team at Deck-O-Art. They are craftsmen without equal!"

"C D Construction did a wonderful job of designing and building our concrete walkway from the front of our home to the pool area in the book. It really turned out great. Have received complements from family and neighbors on the quality of work and how well it fits to the yard and house. Chris and his crew did a masterful job start to finish. When they left the worksite they left everything like they found out. Chris is a wonderful and his crew were diligent , polite and respectful. Got a list from Chris on other areas that they work and plan on giving other opportunities to excel in the future."

"It's been 5 years since we replaced all grass and foliage in our backyard with "stamped concrete" and had our pool redone. The concrete is in great condition but lost it's lustre and was looking dull. We needed it to look like it did originally. Looked in Angie's List and Home Advisor for some possibilities. Started with 2 companies that were both highly rated in both referral services. The winner ended up being Collin County Concrete. Family owned, friendly, and excellent work. You can reach them at 972-896-9202 (Wayne) or 972-402-0027 (Sherail)."

"I've been around construction for over 30 years and normally I don't write a review but for these guys I can't give enough praise. Their work is flawless and professional. I would hire them again in a New York minute. If you're looking for any type of concrete work to be done by this company I wouldn't hesitate to hire them. They went Above and Beyond and for this day and time that's saying a lot. Their prices are fair and their work is excellent."

"Brian was very attentive, considerate and professional.  He listened to what we wanted concerning our courtyard.  It is beautiful.  He made sure the drainage was perfect before he started the stonework.  The drainage work took two days.  This was essential to complete prior to the stonework.  We had two other estimates and no one addressed the drainage as part of the work required prior to laying the stone.  Brian was considerate of my desire that no cutting of the stone was performed in my manicured lawn and every day the workers cleaned up any debris that was in the yard.  I will use Brian again when I am ready for an outdoor kitchen in the back yard."

"Excellent work. Contractor welded panels together to form a 5-panel screen, welded extensions onto the base of each panel, and installed into concrete footings with a bond beam for additional structural rigidity. The panels look fab!"

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

There are a few things you can ask welders before you hire them to get an idea of their experience and ability levels:

  • Are you licensed and certified?

  • How long have you been in the welding business?

  • Do you commonly do the type of welding I need?

  • Do you offer any kind of warranty for your work?

  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?

  • How long do you expect my welding project to take?

  • What steps do you take to minimize errors in your work?

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Cutting rectangular ductwork requires careful measurements and the right technique. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the cutting lines accurately. Tin snips are excellent for straight cuts on smaller ducts. For more extensive or thicker rectangular ducts, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade is effective.

Ensure the duct is well-supported and secure while cutting to prevent wobbling and maintain precision. After cutting, use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges, ensuring safety during installation.

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.
