Firehouse Chimney aka Seymour Chimney Cleaning was started in 1983 by my father and brother, Al and Mark Leitch, Dad saw a need for a local sweep due to the high number of chimney fires in the community. Al is a 30 year veteran with the local fire department. Now I (Kent, Al's youngest son) have managed and operated the company since 2000. I work full time at the City of Knoxville Fire Dept and attend church at Calvary Chapel Church. Our first priority is safety, 2nd is affordability. We treat people like we would want our grandparents treated, with kindness and respect. The customer is right. We always appreciate any feedback, whether good or bad, it helps us improve and grow. We are a debt free company that is family owned and operated with help from selected firefighters and paramedics. We offer free inspections in the Seymour / south Knox area. "We were pleased at first with the techician and treatment. Unfortunately when it came to scheduling the following visits they did not go well. The second time the technician was very late (which we understand happens) and the treatment was not applied throughtout but like he was in a hurry. The next time they never showed up. My husband called and they said they would send someone out the next week (the earliest they could get someone out). This was also a no-show. My husband again called and asked for a refund of monies paid as he had taken off work twice to be there. The company could never explain why they had not shown up twice nor did they offer any refund. We were happy with the effectiveness of the treatment but the poor customer service has lost our business."

We offer discounts to first time customers, we accept major credit cards and checks. Our pledge is quality creates demand. Got a pest! Call the best! We currently employ 16 employees who are all state certified who attend yearly classes to keep up with all current requirements. New in 2015 we are now licensed in HLT Lawn Fertilization, Aeration, Yard Broadcast Sprays.

"Was told by companies represntative that we had standing water in crawl space (which we already knew). It was recommended we have crawl space encapsulated to resolve the problem which was done in Mar 2019. Mud was tracked on the bite barrier during installation. It became apparent after projection completion that it would not solve the water issue. Several cuts were made in the barrier in an attempt to drain water from underneath the barrier. Did not work either. Technician we were dealing with was terminated by company during the process. Another technician was assigned to try and fix the problem. He informed us that the water should have been removed and drainage system and sump pump installed prior to encapsulation. Had I known we needed a drainage system I would have contacted companies that specialize in water prevention. Filed complaint with BBB with no result. Company hides behind wording in contract and takes no responsibility for information told to us by their reprentative. Hiring another company to try and fix the problems we still have. I have pics that show the quality of work done."
