We were not happy with them. They gave us an estimate. Then they came out and said it was more because something was not included. We were not happy about that because it was not an accurate estimate. The fence wobbles. It is not a level fence. As far as esthetics it doesn't look that great.

First off I would like to start out that the owner of Phillips Fence is a very nice guy and is extremely concerned with making the customer happy. He came out a few weeks earlier to make a quote and draw up the design and contract. The owner informed us the workers would be removing all of the existing metal & chain link fence.
The work crew arrived a few weeks later to remove the old fence. They only worked a couple of hours a day and complained the entire time. This should have been a two day job but it was stretched to 4 days. When I would come home from work in the evenings, I would walk around to see the progress. I noticed many boards that were nailed, but the nails didn't hit the cross brace holding the slat of wood and the wood slat would be very loose. The next day my wife would have to show the work crew the items that needed to be repaired before they could get started each day. My retired neighbor had to point out items on his side as well. On the final day, my wife had to remind the crew that it was in the contract for them to haul off the old fence. The worker at first refused to do so because he was getting scratched. After discussing this matter, the old fence finally got removed.
When I came home the final evening of the finished job (See attached photos), I had to call the owner and have him come out to inspect the work of his crew to see if it was up to his standards. He apologized to my wife for the crew's attitude and inspected the work. After the inspection, he agreed with all the items I pointed out and he even discovered a couple of metal poles that were only cut (not dug out) and were sticking out of the ground 6 inches high. There were nails that were driven onto the other side of the fence, which caused a safety hazard because if someone accidentally bumped into it they could get scratched. Instead of cutting out a stump, the fence was built on top of it. My neighbors fence was connected to my fence with a piece of chicken wire. Finally, the fence was built on the inside of one of the clothes line poles, therefore it appears that my clothes line is on my neighbor's property. In the photos that are attached, the 4 x 4 pole was not originally lined up to the existing chain link pole so they built a wood extension. This caused the entire line of fence to be off.
The owner came out and agreed to have the crew fix the poles sticking out of the ground, the nails that were sticking through the other side, and repair the large gap in the fence with something more professional looking. We are stuck with our clothes line pole being in our neighbor's yard. (Thankfully, we have a good neighbor).
If you decide to use this company, make sure the owner makes daily visits on his crew.

Every thing was smooth beginning with an on the spot estimate and several interactions with their office. They had to deal with a few days of rain which started right after they completed the post installs. The two-man install crew made a few changes to the original plans, at my request, without a problem. Doug, the Lead installer, understood my need to reroute the fencing and came up with a nice solution around a curved area of my driveway. I had "thrown" the change at him on the morning of the install. The Install Crew worked like a crew of one. One guy would start to do something and the other guy was ready to do the next step when the other completed his task. All without either needing to talk to the other. It was fun to watch two work so smoothly. They have MANY years of experience installing all kinds of fence and it showed on my job.
I had also added an extra gate to the original estimate at the last minute and Office Manager Stacie was able to have their vendor add the five foot gate to an order at the last minute so it would make a truck delivery just in time for my installation. Stacie also communicated with me often during the several days of rain so that I had a good idea of her companies plans for the "next work day". Everyone was so professional when interacting with me every step of the way. The fence looks great and my Doberman loves to run in his play yard without restrictions.
I highly recommend Phillips Fencing for any of your fencing needs. If they do half the job they did for me you will not be disappointed.

"It was a pleasure working with you on this project. We are very excited that your four-legged family member has a safe environment to run and play in. I know for a fact you will enjoy not walking a Doberman in the winter!!! Thank you for your business, and do not hesitate to call us if you need anything in the future. Stacie Lowe"

They did good work, but the biggest problem with them was they didn't follow any kind of timetable that they had given us. They gave us a three-week window, and by the time they showed up was like six weeks, and when they did show up, they called about 10 minutes before somebody came to do the work. They did do a good job, but they were not professional in a sense that they didn't follow through. I had to call them four or five times to find out what was going on after the three-week window they had promised. After three weeks, I called, no response, and finally, after about three more weeks from the date they had promised, no call, no nothing, finally somebody came, and then they didn't do what they had said on the installation, so I had to send them an e-mail saying your people didn't do what you said on the estimates and then that's when I got my response.

Awesome. Phillips fencing is now my go-to company for any/all fencing needs. Best customer service I've experienced in years?it really stands out as superior. They were responsive, very helpful with a home visit to look over the area needing to be fenced in order to ensure the product I select is appropriate, provided very helpful fencing suggestions, and were very prompt with returning to my home and installing the fence. The fence installers were very professional, very experienced adults that knew what they were doing?not rookies or people just looking to throw up the fence and get it over with. An absolute total quality fence and the best price I found in Knoxville. This is a combo that is very hard to find; quality and price together. For fencing, Phillips is the way to go. Thanks Stacy and Team! I will be calling again fairly soon for help fencing a home I'm about to purchase.

I was expecting pre-assembled fence panels, but they actually built the fence onsite. They did a great job. It is the shadowbox style which matches the neighbors fence perfectly. They cleaned up after installation and I couldn't be happier with the result.

It went extremely well. The fence looks great now. They were very quick and agreeable when there was need for an adaptation. The only negative was that they pierced the underground sprinkler system which also affected the cement of the fence. I had it fixed by an independent contractor since it was minor.

The people were excellent. Very efficient at their jobs and the consulting folks who came out to give an estimate were honest and really trustworthy in retrospect. I would use them again for my fencing needs.

Phillips came one day to set the posts and then a couple of days later after concrete had set. It went fast from there. The guys were done in less than a day. They cleaned up all their scraps.

The back section of our wooden fence fell down due to age and weathering. Phillips Fencing removed the old fence and did an excellent job of cleaning up. The new fence was installed quickly and professionally. Their office staff was great as well. Very helpful and friendly.

They did a great job on the fence. They were easy to get a hold of and if I needed any repairs done. They accommodated to my schedule and they were great work with. Their prices were a little higher than other companies but I would recommended them to others.

They were wonderful. They were very reasonable. There were two crew members came out to do the work and it took about 2 days to complete. They were very fast. A week later, a storm came through and knocked down some of the fence. They were very responsive and came out right away to fix the problem.

When they originally put the fence in, they did not put it in correctly so they had no problem coming back out to fix it. They were very responsive to my calls and concerns. Scheduling was easy and I did not have to be here when they arrived.

I was not at home when the crew arrived so my wife handled it. When they came with a crew, they used the existing slats instead of replacing with new slats. I was okay with that. They really were okay and the slats could be saved. However; they only replaced and cemented in one post and did not repair the side post as quoted. When I came home the job was considered complete and they had left.
I looked at the job and noticed the work was not done as quoted and the side section was leaning. (My wife was not involved in any of the transactions). They did not repair or re -cement in the side post. When I called the representative's cell, it took them two days to get back to me. When he returned my call, he claimed the side post was damaged by termites and could not be repaired and re-set. He told me it would cost another $225.00 to replace the one side post that was originally in the quote and they offered no rebate or break.
About 3 months later the main rear support post they put in split but it is still functions. My lesson learned is to always be present when any repair crew arrives and not leave it up to my wife because she did not know what was supposed to be done. I would not use this company again.

"We are very sorry that you feel like our service to you was not top notch. We wish that you would have contacted the office and given us an opportunity to resolve the issue at hand. We tried to contact you (by phone and by knocking on the door) while our crew was at your home to discuss the rotted post. We could not reach anyone while on the job site, the crew left, they did exactly what was on the written contact. We wanted to inform you of the rotted post .You then contacted the salesman a few days later, he explained that our minimum service charge was $225 to come back out. Once again we apologize and wish you would have contacted us at the office and given us a chance to resolve this issue. We have since tried to contact you to resole this issue that 4 months later we are now hearing about. We strive ourselves on customer service and would have/and are still willing to correct any issues or give you a full refund! Thank you for your business, and please accept our apologizes. Lucie Phillips"
