"Rick did a great job and saved me having to replace my fence immediately. I think he went above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend him."
This is the Island Home side entrance that we built. There was no side entrance or door there in the beginning. The house was a drab gray and the wood was rotten. We replaced the entire back wall of the house, the downstairs bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room, and created a sitting room, where this entrance is. Built a deck on as well, that was later painted blue.

The cheapest farm fences are typically wire fences, which cost less to install than traditional lumber fences. Barbed wire is one of the most inexpensive options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets. It is suitable for confining docile animals in large spaces, as it provides a visual barrier and a mild deterrent. Other options like hog wire and woven wire fences are also cost-effective because they require less lumber than a full wooden fence. These types of wire fences are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair, though they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than wood.

In the vast majority of cases, chain-link fences are less expensive than wood fences. Installing a wood fence costs anywhere from 20% to 30% more than a chain-link fence, or an average of $3,100, whereas a similarly sized chain-link fence will average around $2,400. Even with add-ons and additional protective finishes, a chain-link fence is very likely to cost you less than a wood fence. The only exception would be a split rail wood fence, which can cost about half the price of a chain-link fence or less.

Ideally, when you replace a fence post, you should also replace the concrete footing. The concrete bonds to your new post, creating a secure base. If you install a new post into old concrete, it won’t be as sturdy.

That said, it is possible. Sometimes the post will lift right out of the concrete. If not, you can use a high-lift car jack to try and lift the pole out of the footing. Put the new post into the same hole and backfill it with fast-setting concrete. Keep in mind, this won’t work well for metal posts.

The best fence option for you depends on your property, budget, and style preferences, but a corrugated metal fence could be a good option if you want something durable yet low-maintenance. Unlike wood, corrugated metal won’t fall prey to rot or pest damage, and the metal can be recycled after its life as a fence comes to an end.

The regulations for pool fence heights vary by state, so be sure to research what the legal, minimum height is in your area before purchasing or installing a fence. Though every region is different, generally a pool fence must be at least 4 and ½ feet high.
