"They did a great job. It was quite an undertaking, digging a trench in the basement to re-route the sewer line, but they were efficient and courteous and it ended up being well worth the relatively short inconvenience. Their bid was very competitive and they gave a written guarantee."

"They sent out a guy (Jim) the same day (within about an hour, and we had called mid-afternoon). Jim was excellent, and explained carefully how our system worked, what was failing, and how he fixed it. By the end of the day, our septic tank was pumped clean, the reason for the fluid leaking into our lawn was diagnosed, and a temporary solution was in place."

"This company is A++. Amazing customer service and communication, extremely knowledgeable, and personable. We are remodeling our master bath and needed water lines moved over a couple feet and a jetted tub line plugged, as we pulled it out. He bid $1450 and was much less than a second bid we received. We are now set to finish our remodel, plus American Tradesmen is our go to plumbing service now!"

"Agustin and his team have completed several projects for us, including framing a 1,000 sq ft deck, a light kitchen remodel, plumbing work throughout the house, and bathroom touch-ups. Every project has been completed on time, at a very reasonable price, and with great attention to detail. Agustin is professional, respectful, and genuinely great to work with. He takes the time to understand what we’re trying to accomplish and always communicates clearly throughout the process. One thing we especially appreciate is his willingness to collaborate—if our original idea doesn’t quite fit the budget, he’s proactive about suggesting creative solutions that still achieve the look and functionality we want. It’s been a great experience working with him, and the quality of his team’s work really shows. We will absolutely be hiring Agustin again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

If your wall is wet, but there isn’t a leak, it’s likely a result of humidity and condensation from running a hot shower or cooking in the kitchen. The best way to remedy this issue is to run the fan in the bathroom when you’re showering or in the kitchen when you’re cooking. You can also use a dehumidifier to help remove moisture from the air.

Replacing a main water shut-off valve costs anywhere from $300 to $1,000, or more depending on your project’s specifications. You’ll need to replace the shut-off valve if the size of the pipe changes (as is common with trenchless replacement) or the material used in the new pipes isn’t compatible with the valve.

The water supply lines run underneath the bathtub. These two pipes deliver cold and hot water to the bathtub—the cold water comes from the main water supply, and the hot water comes from the water heater. The pipes are made from copper, cream-colored plastic CPVC, or red and blue PEX tubing.

The cost of rough-in basement bathroom plumbing can be less expensive than the cost of rough-in plumbing in the rest of the house. Materials, labor, and fixtures make up the bulk of the price, but plumbing and electrical are often nearby to where your basement bathroom fixtures will be.

No, a larger well pressure tank will not increase or improve water pressure on its own. The pressure control on the well pump is what determines the water pressure in your home. However, a larger tank does offer other benefits. It can hold more water, allowing you to run it for longer before the pump needs to turn on. Because the pump cycles on and off less frequently, there is less stress and wear on the well system. This can lead to a longer lifespan for the pump and tank, and you may experience fewer pump-related issues that could affect your water pressure in the long run.

If you want to increase your water pressure, you can try one of the following solutions:

• Adjust the tank’s pressure settings to a higher PSI (pounds per square inch).

• Replace your current pump with one that has a higher flow rate (GPM).

• Install a water pressure booster pump in your plumbing system.

• For pressure fluctuations, consider replacing your current setup with a constant pressure system.
