We started with and uneven grade of dirt and ended up with a beautiful paver patio with steps and a sitting wall. Bret provided a fair estimate and quickly came back and remeasured when we wanted to add to the project. He was also honest about what material made sense for our project. I had just moved to Portland and was not sure of what I needed to get the yard ready for winter.  I called Pioneer and they were out the next day to meet with me. I had a few different companies come out to give quotes and Jack at Pioneer was hands down the most informative, most creative and most helpful of anyone I met with. He begin with a full walk through of my property explaining to me the landscaping that we had and how to care for it.  He really took the time to educate me since I was new to the Northwest.  Once he had a firm understanding of what my needs were he talked me through a few different options for lawn care and service.  Compared with other bids I got I didn't feel pressured and honestly felt like I had an expert who I TRUSTED to give me good advice and advice. I signed up and we scheduled the first service to begin a few days later.  I have been using them every since. 

Pioneer and especially Jack went above and beyond to work with me to get my property in shape for the holiday's even coming out twice in one week!  I have total confidence in Jack to pick the best products (tree's, shrubs and pots) and he took the time to shop around to get me the best prices which he passed along the saving to me. We even went out shopping for pots to put on our front porch and he was an absolute delight throughout the process taking me to 3 stores to pick out the perfect pots.  His knowledge of not only landscaping but local retailers was very impressive.

"Price increased from quote due to going under driveway with sprinkler line. That should have been part of the quote. as I thought it was, and not added on later. Poor follow through with commitments. I was told I would be shown how to winterize the system and then what to do in the spring startup. Neither of these happened. Upon turning the system on this spring, several stations would not work. Before I knew what was wrong with my new system, I texted the owner and told him some stations would not work. The owner said he would be out to fix it. After waiting for two days I decided to see if I could fix it myself. The problem was the wiring had lost its connections due to splices being made and buried in the dirt rather than being put in the box where they would be protected from weather. After I re-wired and installed two little boxes to protect the splices, the system worked. This spring the lawn was getting dead spots due to not have good coverage. After the wiring problem encountered and lack of response, I decided to have someone else fix the system. They split one station into two and redid the sprinkler heads because they were not evenly spaced for adequate coverage. One station was split into two due to not having enough water pressure to run all the heads at the same time. I have beat myself up many times for the choice of this company. With what I have had to do to fix things, it was just not money well spent."

"It went very well. The crew was wonderful. They worked hard, were courteous, and professional. They cleaned up very well after the project was completed and I really liked them. The only complaint I had was that the person in charge of scheduling was very hard to reach and didn't return my calls. Once I complained to the office about it, he then returned my call but was very brusque. The project turned out very nice and our neighbors have stopped by to tell us how lovely it looks. Even the postman rang my doorbell to let me know how great it looked. We are very satisfied with the completion of the work,"

"I have been using them for 3 years for multiple projects and would not go to somebody else. They also built a cabin in the woods. It was built 10 miles from the road so it was like carrying all the stuff up the path. They also did the garage and remodeling of the house, mostly kitchen and a little bit of plumbing work in the bathroom. I am still using them and I would be using them for the next thing that will be coming up too."
