"Jason is a very experienced licensed journeyman plumber and pipe fitter now starting his own plumbing business. He has excellent skills and is a joy to get to know. He replied within minutes to my initial call and worked very efficiently and carefully to replace an old water heater. He is a guy you can totally trust to do his honest best at a fair price. "I had Henco help with my new home water conditioner installation(pre-brought from Pentair). The job was done super well and the guys(Nolan and Zack) who came out were very professional and willing to explain all the little details about what I needed to know about the system and the plumbing work. I am glad I hired Henco, and I will definitely go back to them if any plumbing job is needed in the future."

"I had a clogged kitchen sink. I tried a variety of methods but the clog got worse. Sewer Renewal Specialists sent Tony to assess the problem and unclog the drain. Tony identified a cleanout right under the sink and unclogged it using a plumbing snake through that cleanout.. The water drains fine now. I'm happy with the work done and with the company's prompt response to my issue."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

You can fill your hot tub with a bucket, but it will take a long time, and the water won’t run through a prefilter. Look at it this way. If you need 700 gallons to fill the hot tub and you have a 5-gallon bucket, it will require 140 buckets to fill the hot tub.

The plumbing industry has standardized the sizes for bathtub drains. They are 1 1/2 inches wide to fit all standard bathtubs from 14 to 26 inches deep. The standard sizing is to ensure that the drain fits into the P trap, a special part of your piping that prevents sewer water from bubbling up into your home (yuck).

Yes, a skilled plumber can thaw frozen pipes, and it is recommended to hire a professional rather than attempting a DIY fix. A plumber will typically start by investigating your plumbing to locate the frozen areas. They then use professional equipment, such as a heat gun, to safely thaw the affected pipes. If a pipe has already burst or developed leaks, the plumber can make the necessary repairs. For homes with frequently frozen pipes, a plumber can also suggest preventative measures like improving pipe insulation or rerouting lines away from areas prone to freezing.

According to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the distance between your trap and the vent should be no more than 6 feet. For your vent to work properly, it needs to feed into the drain line within 6 feet of trapways that connect to it. Using this formula, you should be able to determine whether you will need multiple vent lines.

The likely culprit is an air lock somewhere in your pipes. This is especially true if the warm water upstairs is accompanied by a decline in water flow. Other causes of this issue include frozen pipes, leaks, damaged supply lines, and more. There’s a simple DIY fix to try for air locks: Turn the hot water and cold water faucets on for a minute, then turn off the cold water and then the hot water. Repeat this process two or three times.
