"Yes they were professional. I looked around and between pricing availability, I had called other companies to come out and give a quote. This was the very best in my opinion on time. They were tidy and cleaned everything up. Taught me how to use the unit. Very professional would definitely refer them to other people. Yes, this was a good experience all around from the phone call in the very beginning to the very end of the job professional. Thank you"

"DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING ANY OTHER COMPANY!! Alpines electricians and installers and management are the kindest, hard-working, most competent people you could ever want. My heat pump died the week before this terrible life endangering heat wave. I am very elderly with several severe physical disabilities and live in a metal manufactured house which heats up better than my oven! Alpines kind management, when informed that the dog and I were on the verge of fainting in the house which was over 105 degrees inside, sent their installation team over the next day, despite their schedule being backed up. Alpines price was competitive and the equipment is highly rated. I am pretty certain Alpine literally saved my life, because I had nowhere else to stay or live and the temp is expected to go to 114 degrees this weekend. The two electricians, the two installers, the supervisors, and the owner were all cheerful, pleasant, and worked no-stop from about 8:30 am to 8 pm to get the new heat pump up and working beautifully with no problems or hitches. I made sandwiches for lunch and they barely stopped working long enough to eat and to rest a little. The temperature inside the house was close to or at 100 degrees, but they kept working. All the Alpine employees were kind people whom I felt very lucky to have in my house. I could write forever, but I could never fully express my gratitude to Alpines wonderful employees,"

"Kevin Kelly was recommended to us by a larger local company who was booked up. We needed a whole furnace and air conditioner replacement, and he did a great job! He was very helpful through the insurance claim process and helping us pick out which units would be best for our house. Kevin is very professional and a super nice guy, and we will be using him for all of our HVAC needs."

"This guy was a real pro. We had a dryer duct that was in between floors of the house. It had been plugged for a long time. He came out and cleaned it out and put a new vent on the outside of the house. He must've been here for 3 hours, and didn't charge very much. Superior job!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While an air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, it is not recommended as it will not work efficiently. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder to circulate cool air, leading to reduced airflow, increased wear and tear, and higher energy bills. This added strain can cause the air conditioner to overheat or fail prematurely. Furthermore, a clogged filter may allow dust and dirt to accumulate in your ductwork, negatively impacting air quality. It is more cost-effective to clean or replace filters regularly than to pay higher utility bills and risk needing to replace the entire AC unit.

Common signs of insufficient return air include uneven temperatures, with some parts of your home feeling hotter or colder than others, and noticeable differences in air pressure between rooms. You might also observe that more air is blowing in rooms closer to the AC unit. Leaky air ducts can also be a related issue or clue.

The simplest indicator is how long it’s been since your last tune-up. You should schedule an annual AC tune-up each spring. Beyond that, there are multiple signs that your AC needs a quick check by a professional. These issues include higher-than-average energy bills, decreased air flow from vents, higher indoor temperatures, and an air conditioning unit that stays on all the time or frequently turns on and off.

If refrigerant levels are low, it can cause the evaporator coil to freeze up. Low freon causes a drop in pressure, which will make the coil too cold and cause moisture to freeze on the coil. Your system may be low on refrigerant because of a leak

Make sure to have maintenance performed twice a year, and contact your local HVAC technician if you suspect your system has low freon levels.

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.
