"I'm selling my house and needed a quick turn-around to get some electrical work done as required by the buyers' lender. It's only been a couple days since I posted my project on Angi and the work is already done. Safety Home Services contacted me right away to get my project on their schedule. Kevin arrived as scheduled and was very quick and thorough with the GFCI replacements and other items on my list. As a bonus, he identified and clearly labeled all the switches in my breaker box. I'm a very happy customer."

"Austin, had to replace two panels at my son's family house. He had to replace and upgrade the one on his power pole. He also had to replace the one that was in the house. When he was finished with the job, all of the wiring inside of both panels were tucked away nice and cleanly. His work was done very professionally. I highly recommend Bohemia Electric they are the only ones that I will have do any of my electrical work."

"I spent $1,000 with another well known heating company, and the furnace was still not fixed!! I just gave up, and went all last winter with electric heaters. There was no way I was going to call them again, as when, once again, the tech willy nilly replaced yet another part, the tech said it should work now and ran out of my house without testing. My neighbor recommended Jco, and the man from Jco spent about half and hour and had it working, without replacing any parts. So for $60, I am now able to heat my house again this winter with my furnace. Highly recommend Jco."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Eugene, frequent rain and high humidity require electrical systems to be sealed against moisture, especially for outdoor wiring and garages. GFCI outlets are essential in damp locations, and weatherproof electrical panel upgrades help prevent corrosion. Winter storms can delay work and cause power interruptions, while summer’s drier weather is ideal for installing landscape lighting or upgrading exterior circuits with UV-resistant materials.

Helpful?

In Eugene, homes with finished basements, crawl spaces prone to dampness, or post-and-beam construction can present wiring challenges. Limited attic access and older electrical panels may require creative solutions for safe, code-compliant upgrades. If your property borders wetlands or has a unique floor plan, discuss these factors with your electrician to ensure proper planning for energy-efficient systems and future solar or EV charger installations.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in Eugene improves immediate safety, reliability, and compliance with local codes—crucial in the city’s damp climate. Over time, you’ll benefit from increased property value, better energy efficiency, and readiness for solar panels or electric vehicle charging. Modernizing your system can also help prevent storm-related outages and support the preservation of Eugene’s distinctive homes, making future upgrades and maintenance easier.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrical pro in Eugene, prioritize those experienced with the city’s older homes and common moisture issues. Ensure they understand local permitting and energy efficiency standards, and can handle electrical panel upgrades or solar-ready installations. Ask for references from recent Eugene projects and confirm they carry insurance that meets local requirements. Clear communication about project timelines is also crucial due to the region’s variable weather.

Helpful?

In Eugene, signs like rusted electrical panels, persistent musty odors, or water stains near outlets often point to moisture damage. Flickering lights during wet weather, frequent breaker trips, or outdated wiring such as knob-and-tube are red flags. Non-GFCI outlets in kitchens or bathrooms and overcrowded breaker boxes suggest your system may need a professional evaluation, especially before adding outdoor wiring or upgrading for energy efficiency.
