"Really well. We needed a half split system as we have a 100 + year old house with a boiler and required air conditioning for health reasons. We didn’t want to have to deal with window air conditioners or removing the boiler system to replace with a forced air system; the half split was the best choice. Sal’s had the most reasonable bid and was very prompt in scheduling and installing. Every person we dealt with from Sal’s was professional, kind and had wonderful senses of humor. Grade A+ all around."

"Matt Brofman and his team installed mini -splits at my house. They were knowledgeable , efficient, respectful and professional. Everything went smoothly. There was a small issue with one of the units. A part was ordered and they came and fixed it. After the installation was completed, i received the warranty and registration by email. Everything was handled for me. Map Construction and Matt made everything so easy."

"We contracted for the surge protector installation and while the electrician was here we arranged for him to also install a new outlet for our washer.  It was winter and required some outside work, but he did it efficiently and in a timely manner.

"All Weather Heating and Cooling beat all the other estimates by about four hundred dollars. Their estimator, Ray,  who was the first person I dealt with was great. He went over the whole job and explained my options and educated me on what I needed to have installed. Within two weeks the company had me scheduled for the installation which was perfect for my timeline. The two men that showed up to do the job were great. Jessie and Shane were courteous and professional and went over everything they were going to do. They had the job done in about five hours which was much faster than I had anticipated. It looks great. They cleaned up after themselves and double checked to make sure everything was working properly. They explained how to operate the unit to me and went over all other information that was important to me, like the warranty. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to have any HVAC work done on their home...

"I bought my first Angie's List coupon deal for this.  I bought a new house, where four children had lived, and the ducts were horribly dirty and clogged.  I scheduled the visit about three weeks in advance.  The day of, the technician called about 90 minutes before the scheduled time to say he was running a bit late and would be at the new house between 12:30 and 1:00.  I told him that was fine, because I had been given a window of 12:30 to 2:30, so he was right on time.  He showed up, walked through the house with me to identify all the vents and returns, and got right to work.  He had to cut two holes in the duct work because a new furnace had been installed in July, and no holes were cut to allow for the cleaning.  He walked me through what he was going to do, and went to it.  After he was done, he said the ducts were pretty dirty, and hadn't been cleaned for a while.  He also suggested I replace a number of register covers.  He didn't really show me all the debris from the duct cleaning, (I should have asked, just to confirm that he did what he says he did).  I could certainly hear the vacuum sucking up all the dirt, and I did see what came out of the dryer vent, so I'm reassured that he did the job.  Since it's a new furnace, the house had previously heated up quickly, but I'm hoping to see even better output and more efficiency (and lower bills!), with the ducts clear and sanitized, too.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.

One of the easiest ways to determine which type of furnace will work best for your home is to contact a professional in your area. Many HVAC companies offer free consultations to help potential customers determine if they need a new system and which type would work best for their home and the community’s climate.

If your boiler is 20 years old, it’s time to get a new one. Although it may seem to be working fine, it’s likely eating up more fuel than it should. Also, compared to a brand-new boiler, one that’s 20 years old is probably not working as well. When you get your new unit, you’ll notice that your home is heating more quickly, and the heat is consistent throughout all the rooms.

Coolant and antifreeze are technically not the same thing. The difference between the two is the ratio of water to other chemicals. True antifreeze is mainly made up of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, while coolant comprises one part antifreeze and one part water. However, the terms coolant and antifreeze are often used interchangeably, even by pros.

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.
