Customers say: Terrific value

"Kirk and Amanda were great to work with. We had a pretty bare yard that we just couldn't figure out how to design. They came up with fantastic ideas we never would have thought of (mulch beds casing our driveway, big block patio, etc.). During the process they were extremely professional and flexible! They were accommodating to any changes we made along the way, and we are thrilled with the results. We cannot believe how much we had done (and done well) for the money."

"Due to a shoddy and unreliable performance, my condo association did not renew its contract with them. After interviewing a number of lawn/grounds maintenance companies found through Angies' List, we decided to go with Pro Care We Care. We couldn't be happier. The crew is professional, punctual, meticulous, and very expedient. The crew did an excellent job during "spring cleanup," removing debris, cutting dead limbs from bushes & trees, planting grass in areas damaged by the snow plow, applying fresh mulch, and cleaning up after themselves. Since then, they have meticulously mowed lawns, edged driveways & sidewalks, and removed debris."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

The best soil to put around a house foundation is fill dirt, which is soil that’s specifically designed for covering large areas and filling in holes. Don’t waste money regrading around your foundation with expensive topsoil. Use topsoil only for the last layer of soil, about 5 to 10 inches, so that when you do your foundation planting, your grass and plants will have the nutrients they need to grow.

Hydroseeding is a great option for sloped yards, as sod might not root as well. Hydroseeding also traditionally creates sprouts faster than normal seeding—up to a full week faster. Additionally, you can customize your slurry mix with hydroseed, allowing you to create a mixture that will work specifically for your yard’s conditions.

It’s important to remember that hydroseeded lawns require a lot of water during the first few weeks of installation, which can be time-consuming and costly. Additionally, the installation window tends to be shorter than that of sod and traditional grass.

When it rains, decomposed granite can become muddy and mushy in texture and start to wash away, leading to erosion of the surface. Decomposed granite’s inability to endure heavy rainfall is one of its biggest drawbacks.

Yes, you can put new mulch over old mulch, since it’s decomposable. The only reason you should remove old mulch before laying new mulch would be to maintain a certain aesthetic.
