"I was very pleased with the work and the customer service. I did call back about a small problem I had and was told that someone would be out to fix it. I did figure it out myself and corrected it, but never got a response about them fixing the problem."

"I was really impressed by the service provided by Handyman of Western Wake. From the moment you start the process you can tell they have their standard of procedures down to a science. They contact you throughout the whole process, sending both emails and texts so you know exactly what to expect and when. I can’t speak to the other handymen they employ but count yourself lucky if you get Mike. He is extremely competent, professional, and friendly. He worked very efficiently to complete all the tasks we had on the list and let me know as he completed each one. He noticed one other issue we had with our front door that we didn’t have on the list, and he fixed that as well. He even gave me a few tips while he was working. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be calling them again for any future needs."

"Alem knows his stuff. He was just what we needed in the timeframe we needed. Only thing that would have made the service better would have been a more firm estimate."

"Amazing service, on time and very respectful. He assembled a trampoline in no time. My husband would have taken several days and been extremely frustrated. He cleaned up and just left everything perfect. My granddaughter is one happy 6 year old. I will definitely be utilizing his services again."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Before starting handyman projects in Durham, clearly define your project scope and budget, then check with the City of Durham Inspections Department for any permit or inspection requirements. Gather all materials in advance, and consider the impact of Durham's seasonal weather on your timeline. Creating a detailed checklist and scheduling inspections early helps prevent unexpected delays and ensures your project stays compliant and on track.

Helpful?

In Durham, hidden costs during handyman projects can include permit fees for electrical or plumbing work, especially in historic neighborhoods. Uncovering issues like outdated wiring or water damage in older homes may require extra repairs. You might also face disposal charges for old materials, additional trips for specialty supplies, or parking permits in busy areas. Weather-related delays can sometimes extend project timelines and impact scheduling.

Helpful?

In Durham, regular follow-up is essential for lasting handyman results. Inspect repaired areas each season, especially after heavy rain or temperature changes common in the region. Check for signs of moisture, wear, or settling, and address minor issues promptly. The North Carolina Department of Insurance recommends routine maintenance of plumbing, roofing, and HVAC systems to prevent costly repairs and keep your home safe and efficient year-round.

Helpful?

In Durham, tackling handyman projects yourself can save on labor costs and offer scheduling flexibility, but risks include code violations or safety hazards if you lack experience. Hiring a licensed professional ensures work meets Durham's building codes and passes inspections by the City of Durham Inspections Department. While professional help costs more, it provides peace of mind, especially for projects involving electrical or structural changes.

Helpful?

The heavy red clay soil across NC expands and contracts, causing posts to heave and lean. Successful mailbox repair requires setting the post 18 to 24 inches deep with a concrete footing to prevent shifting. High humidity also rots untreated wood rapidly, so proper material selection is crucial. Finally, you must follow strict USPS height and distance standards to guarantee continuous mail delivery after the installation.
