"We had previously hired Paz Painting to remove popcorn from the ceilings in 2 rooms and hired his crew again to do the same in our dining and living rooms, an entryway and the upstairs stairwell ceiling. They also painted several rooms. They did a great job in both regards and did a nice job of cleaning up when done. Narciso is easy to work with and I would definitely hire his company again."

"Jesus and his team did a fantastic job painting the inside of my house! They were friendly and gracious, and careful to ensure the job was done correctly. It also helps that Jesus had a lot of experience and had good recommendations for what would look good in different parts of the house. It looks like a brand new house inside now, and I would 100% recommend them to anyone for painting!"

"Company was very responsive and easy to deal with. I had a privacy fence stained. They masked off the house and driveway to avoid over spray then applied the stain with two coats. The two gentlemen who did the job were great and worked very **** ** a very hot day. Fence looks great. I would definitely use five star painting again."

"Over the course of the last year Grady Jones Paint has worked for me on (3) different occasions to repaint our home interior. The scope of work included scraping the popcorn ceilings, flattening them and then repainting them; repainting all of the walls; painting our cabinetry; and, finally, staining the exposed woodwork on our deck. Clee was very responsive and visited the project every time his workers were on site. Tim and Eddie made up the crew who did the work. They were amicable, professional, courteous and did a GREAT job. I plan to use Grady Jones Paint for any future work and recommend them to anyone in need of a paint contractor."

"Absolutely excellent from the start through finish! Geoff gave me estimates for the rooms I had requested for painting, and as it turned out, I ended up asking for additional areas based on their price (the additional rooms he had thoughtfully already measured). The painters did a fabulous job - Dave made sure they did a quality work - I found absolutely straight lines, no drips, no smears, and colors that looked great. And since I wasn't home at the time, I had to trust that the job was done right. I didn't need to worry - Dave was on site to make sure the job was done right. , and that the painters were great on their own. A quality, professional job indeed, at a very reasonable and well-worth price, given the high walls. I would give them 10 stars!!!"

"We’ve used International Painting several times over the years and they always deliver excellent, high quality results on time and on budget. Last week they power washed our house, deck, and driveway; painted the foundation; stained the deck; resealed the driveway; and repainted front entrance. We’re delighted that our 30-year old home looks brand new! Fermin and his team are prompt, polite, and professional. Fermin shared his insurance without asking and the team cleaned up every day. We’re extremely happy and will use International Painting again in the future for some interior work."

"Jeromy from Express Yourself arrived on time. He had a positive attitude and went to work! He did a good job smoothing out the imperfections in the walls and ceiling. He made sure that we were completely satisfied with all the painting before he left."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

Painting or staining protects fences from environmental damage, enhances durability, and improves curb appeal with a fresh, customized look.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

Typically, a fence requires one to two coats of stain. The exact number can vary depending on the porosity of the wood. For specific guidance, it's best to check the manufacturer's instructions. After applying the first coat and letting it dry completely, you can assess the finish. If it appears patchy, uneven, or you want a more saturated color, a second coat is recommended. An extra coat can also help cover lap marks.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.
