"Our main project work was performed in April and May 2017 with some subsequent work after we completed a new master bath in January 2018. The drywall repair phase in 2017 encountered unforeseen issues due to improper work done by a contractor used by the previous owners. While the cost of the project increased accordingly, Doug Fox (owner of Wolverine Custom Painting) was particularly good with clear communication and transparency as we expanded the project scope. The Wolverine craftsmen that performed the cabinetry, drywall and structural/fastener solutions for high ceiling drywall features were extremely thorough and skilled. The painting crew were excellent and took great pride in their work. Given the unusual nature of this home (in a Frank Lloyd Wright tradition) we are extremely pleased with the end result that highlights the barrel ceilings and interior features of this beautiful home. Wolverine Custom Painting was a 'one-stop shop' for us that exceeded all our expectations."

"We are very pleased with how our bathroom turned out. We enlarged the master bath into an adjacent bedroom. Now we have a cabinet with drawers, the same size shower as before, and a partially re-arranged floor plan. Gary scheduled the other contractors needed to complete the job: plumbing, electrical, tile, granite work, and paint. The job took longer and cost more than originally planned (these things generally do). We had the work done 2 years ago and are still very pleased with the work."

"John provided a timely quote and he and his crew were punctual, polite and did a great job. They completed the job when he said they would even though they had some unpredictable Fall weather to contend with. They did exactly what we wanted and contracted for. No questions, no call backs, and best of all no surprises. I would hire them again if I needed additional painting done and would recommend them to friends and family."

"I met with Charles and he was very professional and courteous. He went over all aspects of the job, followed up on every detail. Everything went on schedule, and he helped me obtain $1100 in rebates. Charles and his brother came back after insulation was installed and clean, vacuumed, and made sure everything was spotless like no one was even there. I would, and have recommended them to several friends and family members.

"I should tell you that he was the 3rd contractor to show up with an estimate.  The 1st, which advertises eavuily on sports radio, could not even offer a solution and simply left after 15 minutes.  The 2nd, a snake oil saleman, wanted $4000 to dig out the basment along 3 walls to solve the problem (overkill and I'm out $3000 too much)
His 2 men showed up on time and completed the task that day but advised there was still blockage which had to be snaked out.  I subsequently received a call from Brian, 4-Ever's plumber, who set up an appointment came out and snaked the line clear.  He even went to the store bought me 3 plugs..one brass one so  I could lay carpet w/o a bump where the cleanout was and 2 more for the storm drain and the sewer drain which were never ( after 60 years) opened.  He even took the time to show me how to break out the original brass plugs and how to install new PVC ones.  DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS NOT ON ANGIE'S LIST AND 4-EVER LEADS THE PACK

"I got 3 quotes for work that needed to be done on the exterior of my home and took the middle quote. The company that was doing the job was doing a horrible job. New Star Construction was doing some other work in my neighborhood and they came to look at the job. I ended up having them come and fix the bad work from the previous company and I couldn't be happier. They did a great job and are such great people to work with. They are still calling me to follow up to make sure everything is ok."

"Chris Bonk, owner of B5, is a gem to work with. So glad we found him for this major, 800 square foot addition to our home. With rare exception he had sub-contractors at our home on schedule and they were all highly skilled at their specialties. His construction superintendent, Dan, is one of the most competent builders I have ever come in contact with. All in all, I can’t say enough good things about Chris, Dan and B5 Contractors."

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

Yes, most services include necessary frame modifications for proper door fitting. Confirm with your provider.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.
