JW Home Improvement
5.0
This is the fifth or sixth time we have used JW for home improvement projects, and we have never been disappointed. We started with 'simply' trying to find the source of water damage in our lower-level, and ended up renovating our laundry/storage room and installing new vinyl floors throughout the bulk of the downstairs. From Josh making multiple trips out to ensure the estimate and scope was solid, to Marcos and Israel completing the project from start-to-finish, we are thrilled with the results

It could not have gone better. From start to finish it was nothing less than perfect. Without a doubt AG Construction was the best contracting experience we have ever had. Aaron Goodman and team are the best of the best. Look no further for your flooring needs.

JW Home Improvement

I originally hired JW last year to install a new subfloor in one of my bathrooms. The crew was punctual and very professional. Once they began demo for the floor, they noticed significant rot under the tub and were able to add that repair to the scope of work for a reasonable price. I was very satisfied with the quality of their work. On the strength of the bathroom work, I hired them again early this year to do some framing and install sheetrock in my basement. As before, the crew was great -- very professional, kept me informed on what they were doing, and delivered very high quality work. Couldn't be happier. On a more general note, it turned out that I had the opportunity to speak with the owner (Jesse) a little bit after the work was complete. I was impressed by his professionalism, accessibility, and commitment to JW's customers -- values that seem to be consistent throughout the organization. Would recommend and use again

Could not have gone better. They made the necessary construction modifications required in an old, uneven house, they did the work in just over one month, and we very clear about the additional costs that arose from construction obstacles as well as additional items we selected for them to do.

Virginia Kitchen & Bath
5.0
We have had several contractors perform work on our house over the past 12 years and Virginia Kitchen and Bath (VKB) is by far the best. Our bathrooms and kitchen are GORGEOUS. VKB offered us a competitive price, high quality workmanship, superior project management, and insightful design. Plus, the projects were performed at the presented timeline and budget. I want to particularly thank Leon and Bo's thoughtful & creative design ideas, Andy and his team's incredible workmanship on our kitchen, and Faruk, our project manager, who was always immediately responsive to questions we had throughout the process. VKB is the real deal and stands behind its work. Tom & Cathy Buckley, Great Falls, VA, 2206

DMV Kitchen & Bath Inc
5.0
We selected DMV based on our previous experience with the company starting with Rolando who successfully remodeled our kitchen and 3 baths back in 2015 and with Javier in remodeling of 1 bathroom, construction of an outdoor shed, and finally remodeling of our 1st and 2nd floors. For details on this more recent 2022 project consult my review elsewhere on Anji. . The construction area consisted of two sides of the basement--the “finished” side for an office *** guest room plus a small hallway; the other, a larger “unfinished” side for storage. The project began by moving everything in the small hallway to other parts of the house. Then they cleared what would be the “finished” side of the basement moving the sofa bed, several desks, 3 bookcases, a couple office chairs, a table, several bookcases, 7 file cabinets, clothes and other items from the closet, and numerous boxes of books plus files removed from file cabinets to the other side of the basement or, when necessary, to other parts of the house, outdoor shed, and garage while they worked on the “finished” side. Some of the items in the “unfinished” side had to be moved out of the basement to another part of the house to make room for heavier items that could not be lugged upstairs without breaking someone’s back. Two more file cabinets that I had not yet emptied they moved on a dolly to the other side of the basement. I regretted having emptied the 7 other file cabinets so that even more boxes with file contents had to be carefully labelled and moved to the other side. That was my fault! It was a complex undertaking since we were adding to what was already stored on the “unfinished” side, but the men were creative, cooperative, and experienced in meeting the challenge with us. The work began on the “finished” side and small hallway with demolition of the existing ceiling and lighting. Once the men cleaned up that mess they installed electrical cabling, wood, and drywall for the ceiling. They repaired the 2 feet of drywall around the bottom perimeter of the wall. Once the basic structure was in place they applied 2 coats of plaster to the walls and ceiling, and then sanded them. They taped the corners and joints. Following our selection of paint, they applied primer on the walls and ceiling, sanded, and then applied 2 coats of off-white paint to the walls and ceiling. What a beautiful transformation of the walls! To prepare for the installation of the luxury vinyl tile floor planks on the “finished” side and hallway they evened out the existing concrete with additional concrete. They lay the beautiful, brownish-gray floor planks on the concrete floor. Javier convinced us that the brownish-gray would be a good selection and he was right. Then the men installed baseboards and shoe molding around walls of the finished side and hallway. At some point they installed 8 recessed lights. What amazing acoustics in that room while it was still empty! In the latter phase of the “finished” side Alvaro repaired, sanded, and painted the stairway and lay the luxury vinyl tile floor planks to the stairs. To match the stairway, he sanded and stained the stair railing to match the stairs. He also repaired, sanded, and painted the walls off-white on either side of the stairway and the ceiling. Finally he painted the door separating the basement and kitchen. What a major transformation of that stairway! We were so pleased with the results! In the next phase of the project we transferred our attention to the “unfinished” side. After covering all the furniture, boxes, etc. with plastic they installed electrical cabling, wood, and dry wall on the ceiling. Then they applied plaster to the ceiling, sanded it, primed and painted it with 2 coats of paint. Then they installed 11 recessed lights to what previously was a deep, dark dungeon. When that major work was completed and the plastic removed, they vacuumed the area as best they could and moved the furniture and some of the boxes and bins back to the “finished” side. After a gap in construction Alvaro installed four heavy-duty, industrial-welded, steel storage units with adjustable shelves along the walls of the “unfinished” side of the basement so we didn’t have to worry about flimsy shelves collapsing with the weight of heavy boxes and plastic bins. Gradually we filled the shelves and file cabinets, moving some items temporarily stored in other parts of the house back to the basement. Alvaro (?) also installed a steel storage unit at one end of the garage to hold our daughters’ heavy boxes, some of which had been moved out of the basement and were collapsing with the weight of far too many boxes stacked on each other. Thanks to Javier for that creative solution to the problem! The DMV workmen did some additional jobs not directly related to repairing and painting walls and ceilings, installing hardwood/vinyl floors and lighting in the basement. Once the major work was done in the basement they went upstairs and moved some of the remaining displaced items to other parts of the house, garage, and shed. They installed a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, secured 2 bookcases to the wall, installed 3 transition pieces on the floors beneath the doorways, and installed 3 dimmers for the lights. After completing most of the work in the basement they performed extra tasks not listed in the contract upstairs, tasks like tightening the screws in a door that would not close, installing a toilet seat, repairing a knob on one of our utility closets, and moving an office chair in the family room to the garage for goodwill. Fabio installed 4 internet connections: 2 in the basement, 1 in the family room on the ground floor, and 1 in the den on the second floor. Finally my husband and I could use our computers! Then when all was said and done the men installed dimmers swept and cleaned the two sides of the basement and hallway one last time. Muchas gracias to Alex and Wilmer for doing most of the moving, cleaning, and trash collection, to Alvaro and Cesar for doing the construction including installation of the shelving units, to Fabio for installing the 4 internet connections, and to Orlando and Jose for wrapping things up at the end. Bon trabajo! The quality of materials and workmanship on the basement remodeling was exceptional as we have come to expect of this company. And because we are an elderly couple we really appreciated the extra help in moving things around in the basement and around the house. The workmen were reliable, polite, honest, skilled, hardworking, and flexible in adjusting to additions and changes from time to time. They always took extra care to clean up at the end of the day and to pick up trash as it was collected. The price seems reasonable given the extra work not previously budgeted. Javier was great at planning, communicating, and allowing for extra time when we needed it to make decisions on where to put things or to do some of the moving ourselves, but he could certainly have benefited from having a right-hand man to assist him when he was not immediately available. We would highly recommend DMV for home remodeling projects. This has been the best Service from anyone in all the service industries I've use (plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc). They were the best priced. Very fast to respond, Mike even made time from his busy schedule to swing by and address some concerns. They worked with us, by sending crews out several different times as we built walls and made some last minute changes. Jodi, was great with call backs and updates on crew schedule. Actual worker bees were very polite, courteous and friendly. They would also call before showing up to let us know their ETA. Never late, never got a "sorry we left X back at the shop". They worked nonstop till the task was completed. They never left the site unfinished and always cleaned up and left site as if they were never there. Calling these guys next time without bothering to get quotes. The attached picture is to show where they installed the new floor and matched to the existing floor which had a 1/2" difference in height. You can guess to where they new install is but I'm not telling

"What a fantastic job they did. The reason we did not give a '5' is that sommunications were scrambled and incomplete resulting in a higher cost than contracted for. But the owner was very helpful to make everything right. Communications were also a problem because the flooring team seemd to not speak English and thus we could not effectively communicate with any of them. They were courteous, stuck to the project timeline, hard working, and wore masks. They paid special attention to moving our larger furniture pieces (fee involved) and putting it back when the floor was ready.Overall we are very pleased.
We guarantee your satisfaction, and we won’t leave until the job is done right. We pride ourselves on the quality work we provide, while delivering great customer service. Check out our services offered and call or click to schedule an estimate today!

"An excellent job and a hard working crew. Mr. Goodman is prompt, easy to communicate with, efficient, and replies/sends info. quickly. A very fair price for beat-up hardwood floors that were 50-75 years old. His crew used good quality sanding equipment and got to work right away. The crew worked hard and cleaned up well. Minor issues were dealt with right away or monitored until after floors finished curing. I highly recommend AG Construction LLC and Aaron Goodman!

"My bathroom remodel with Aladdin Carpets far exceeded my expectations.Nader Davari, the project designer who supervised the work, was excellent. From the beginning he worked with me to design a bathroom the way I wanted it.There was a wide selection of high quality products to choose from. The existing shower and tub and all the tile were removed and a new larger shower built where the tub had been. New ceramic tile, a new cabinet, double vanity, light and toilet were installed. During the remodel Mr. Davari was on top of everything. All the workmen including Justin, James, Thomas, Sam, Miguel were all specialists in their particular task. At the start of the work, the carpet in other areas were protected with plastic. The job site was cleaned up every day when they were finished and the work was done with a minimum of disruption. I am more than satisfied with the new bathroom and would highly recommend Aladdin Carpets.

"What a wonderful surprise! For a price 80% less than 4 remodelers estimates, the Grout Doctor turned our moldy, ugly bathroom into a functional, useful, and beautiful room with permanent fixes! We were selling our house and I did not have a lot of money to sink into more repairs, but I wanted to fix the bathroom so it was clean and functional. I got 4 quotes from remodelers and they were all over $10,000 and they insisted on doing the whole bath (for even more money) even though I did not want it done! I tried cleaning the tile myself, but I could not get it clean enough, so I thought maybe a grout company could do that. My first call was to Grout Doctor and I knew when I met the President (Richard) who came out to give me the estimate that my worries were over. His professional and knowing demeanor ensured me his team would make our dismal room look like a new bath! He planned to start within a weeks time. Everyone showed up on time and got to work. The existing tile was old and laid in an 80s quick and lifeless format. Nothing was square, the new tiles that needed to be installed that I chose were a different thickness and well oversized compared to what was already there. I had no sense of design but the tile man (Todd) asked me a few questions then went about figuring how he could make it work. After neatly demolishing and rebuilding the moldy surface (fixing the drainage issue as he went), he came up with a very expert modern inlay that made the entire bath look new and beautiful! When it appeared the work may not get done on time, additional men were brought in from another job for an hour or so to stay on schedule. The regrouting (Vince) and polishing went very well and replacing the ceramic base went well too. Some tile had to be relaid where it had come loose from the missing grout. In 2 days time (as promised) I had two new, beautiful bathrooms with regrouted and shining tile throughout! The fix was not cosmetic, but a permanent solution. The house was now ready for sale! The men were friendly, focused on their work, and a pleasure to get to know. They knew their work, were highly skilled, and they were particular and patient to make sure everything was done right. They invited me to watch them as they worked to see why I did not get it right. I could not have been more pleased with their work!

"The price was right for my budget and Mr Trench was very accommodating. The workers were very prompt and clean. Putting up plastic between all the non demoing rooms. They also cleaned up well at the end of each day (two days of work) so that I didn't have to worry about stepping through dirt. The work quality isn't as great as I would have liked but it is definitely fine, and for the price I feel it was fine. The edges were just a little jagged and one wall mid point has a definite bow that can notice if you try.
<br /> At the time I was on a budget crunch but if I had it to do over I would probably go with someone else that may have cost more.
