After resolving an initial issue with dust collection, Elegant Floors completed the job extremely well. We had originally gotten estimates to replace the floors, but the cost of refinishing was considerably less, and our 35-year-old oak floors look brand new again! Elegant Floors was the only contractor that suggested replacing the heating registers with flush-mount, which gives a very finished look. The crew was professional, cleaned up every day, and did outstanding work. BTW, dust turned out to be a non-issue; their standard system left very little dust upon completion of the job.

They did a decent job installing the hardwood floors. The issue is they were supposed to match the color to our existing hardwood floors and they didn't. I now have a room with hardwood significantly lighter than the hallway. When I reached out to them they said not much they can do and then didn't respond to additional emails. They were very communicative during the sales process and very quiet after the contract was signed. The workers needed an extra day as they needed to finish a previous job and there were a few spots that could use fixing the company never replied back to me on after I sent pics. Would not use again.

Excellent job refinishing a den/library with rare but very worn heart pine flooring. Steve was prompt in replying to my request for an estimate, and was reasonably priced. His hard-working crew did a great job repairing the floor -- plus sanding, staining, sealing and coating with polyurethane -- all in a single day! We have lots of other rooms with old floors in our 1898 house. Will definitely hire again.

Elegant Floors is an excellent company to deal with in all areas! Our floors look absolutely beautiful, the cost was very fair and affordable. Everyone we dealt with was fantastic. They were punctual, efficient, very professional and were very accepting of our needs. I had to reschedule the dates that work was to begin and it was not a problem at all. They were happy to provide us with the dates we wanted. The floors and house were spotless when they left! We can't say enough about how happy we are with this company. If we could give them higher than an "A" rating, we would, that is how pleased we are with their work and fair prices.

We had our hardwood floor refinished by Elegant Floor Service, August 2020. The floor is now beautiful - Oak with a neutral finish. The location is the main floor of the house. The cost was very reasonable. Steve White, the owner, came to our home to measure and give the estimate. He was very clear and patient. Two men, Jaime and Oscar refinished the floor. They did a great job. Because the entire first floor needed to be refinished, the job was done in two stages. It took one week from start to finish including moving furniture back (there were four men moving furniture when necessary). We included two options; the dust containment system and a commercial grade finish. All products were water based. The floor has a second life - it looks better now than it originally did. We are happy with our decision to refinish rather than install new floors.

This was my second time using Elegant Floor Service and I'm on my way to using their service for a third time! Based on my first experience, I knew I wanted to hire them again and now that they've just recently installed a second room, I'll be having them back soon! The crew was on-time, friendly and did quality work. No dust, no loud noise and were fast! The customer service is great too! The sales person, Steve, did a good job understanding our needs. The quote was very straight forward to see each room's costs (i.e., removal, prep, refinishing). They provided some helpful FAQs to help understand the process. We also heard from other neighbors that used Elegant Floor Services and had wonderful experiences. The 3 person crew arrived promptly at 8:00am each morning and worked non-stop 8 hours each day. They were very polite, friendly, and wore face masks when necessary. The crew supervisor spoke English well enough to bring things to our attention or allow us to ask questions. I was also impressed with the crew's attention to detail especially in the rooms where we needed new wood floors added. Overall job took 8 calendar days of which the crew was at our house 7 days. My family and I stayed in the house during this period. Now that the work is done, no one would be able to tell the difference between the rooms refinished vs newly done. There is one common flooring throughout our main level! Next on our list is to have our upstairs wood floors refinished. We'll definitely be using Elegant Floor Services for that work! Thanks, Pat

From start to finish, the whole service was amazing. Steve was super responsive, reasonably priced and we are thrilled with the final product! His team arrived on time every day, they carefully moved all of our furniture out of each room, they cleaned up every day and one night they even set up and made our bed! The end result is better than we expected - so beautiful and totally changed the look of our house.

I had much higher expectations for a company that has been in business since 1987 and had such high Angie's List ratings. I received 4 estimates for the work, and ultimately chose Elegant to do the work. Their price was middle-of-the-road. While initial communication was good, once the job was started it sadly became abysmal. There was a huge disconnect between the office, the workers and the project manager. I received conflicting information frequently. Individually, some of the instances could be over-looked, but when added together I was left incredibly disappointed and beyond frustrated. I had to initiate almost all communication, and received no status updates. I can understand and forgive human error, but there was no accountability for mistakes by Elegant and an even more concerning lack of concern...And it really does take a lot for me to get upset. I provided feedback multiple times, not to be petty, but to make them aware of some holes in their customer service, and honestly - no one cared. Despite issues such as a measurement error, which delayed the project 2 weeks, or incorrect direction on which supplies were needed, or emails/phone calls that went unanswered they literally never offered an apology. The lack of remorse was actually pretty disturbing. I ultimately give them a D because the quality of the majority of the work was fine, minus some sloppy work on the last day. But, I cannot recommend them. It was a terrible experience.

"Ms. [Member Name Removed] elected to supply the flooring material for her basement and it seems that is the major source of her concerns. Our position is that if a customer supplies material, they must be responsible (as we would be) for any shortage that manifests. Instead, to save $$, she relied on our measurements (done before she even determined her material) and likely didn't allow adequately for waste. Waste can vary depending on material width, since cutting a wide board results in more waste than a thin one. She ran less than 1 carton short but unfortunately there was significant lead time to procure that 1 carton. If not for that, her project would've completed on schedule. From what I can tell from the email thread, we supplied that extra carton, made the extra trip, and didn't charge her. Ms. [Member Name Removed] was clearly under stress w/ the renovations ongoing in what I gather is her first home. There were an unusual number of phone calls and emails, and she was tearful and overwrought on some calls. We have 7-8 projects in process at a given time - she needed more care/service than we are typically required or staffed to provide. Her comments about 'status reports' and 'project manager' (on a 6 day project) reflect an expectation that would be exceptional for a flooring contractor. That said, we'd never withhold status info if requested. But again, if not for the material shortage, her work would've been completed on schedule. Meanwhile, the basement installation was 90-95% complete and presented no safety hazard. Without complaint or upcharge, we sent a crew to complete the installation when the material arrived. We do care. And I believe if not for 1 carton of material, the tone of this review would be much different."
