"Cesar was top notch! Cesar and I exchanged some text message to set up the estimate, and he came out and we walked to the fence to discuss the work. Cesar said we could repair parts of the fence and he provided an estimate for doing so; but given that three sections were heavily damaged, he recommended replacing those sections with new boards and provided an estimate for that work, too. We ultimately took Cesar's recommendation and replaced three sections of fence. We had a lot of snow fall right before the first date we scheduled for the work, but Cesar kept us informed of when they could do the work via email. They actually came out the next day, despite the snow. The work was excellent. Cesar was always very responsive and just a great guy to work with. I highly recommend A-1 Fencing!"

After spending time looking at our planned fence project with a representative of another fence company (not named here, but widely known in the metro DC area) and getting their estimate, I felt like we should maybe look further. After spending time to look at the project with Dave MacKensie, I knew we'd hit a far better professional level with him and Capital Fence. He clearly had years of experience in the business. A fence project isn't a huge undertaking, but he was thorough in his assessment of the project, had great suggestions on how it should be done, including around plants and trees... and the estimate came in 20% lower than the more widely known company! When Capital's team actually did the project, they were painstaking and detail oriented. The fence was effectively built in place - no pre-fab sections - and it looks great. I also understand that you get what you pay for. But, everything in life is a cost-benefit analysis. After assuring the rep we would be in contact once we made a decision, he stated that he definitely would not be hassling me to pressure me into going with his company. As it turns out, of the many companies that I reached out to, this rep kept badgering me with more and more messages. Other companies might send one or two follow up emails, but this guy was persistent! Even after gently informing him that it is simply not in our budget (their quote was $3700 more than two of the lower bids we received), he would still send messages telling me how our fence wouldn't last since we are going with a subpar company. I have no doubt they do excellent work, but they also need to respect that customers are going to request multiple quotes and not everyone is able to go with their company"
