"This was the very best contractor experience that I can ever remember. Mr. Smith (Bill) was on time for both estimate and work and took better than exceptional effort to leave the area even better than he found it. He was reasonable in pricing, installed per ADA standards, matched existing hardware and explained, from great experience, why we needed to modify the placement of the bars. BTW He was right! I would strongly recommend him for your future needs. You will not regret your selection. RDL"

"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"Allen’s team is awesome. He is a perfectionist. He can be trusted to tell you the truth about what needs to be done. The outside of the cabin needed wood replacement, painting, new gutters, screening in a porch and replacing/adding steps. Inside needed new flooring and electrical. And he will be back in the future for more. He previously has done at least three projects on our townhouse: new bathroom, basement re-do, new vanities on other bathrooms, flooring, etc. he is the only cabin contractor we will use. His bids are very detailed. If his price is higher than other bids, look carefully at the others. Ask questions. You honestly cannot get a better contractor."

"Willis began the job when they said they would and they finished in the time frame they estimated.  The price they quoted in their proposal was accurate.  There were no surprise extra charges. They kept us informed about who was coming and when, and what they would be doing.  They cleaned up before they finished.  All of their employees and subcontractors were courteous and helpful. They quickly corrected any minor things that got missed.
This project involved repairing water damage, and they made sure that everything was dry before they began. They made adjustments in the work plan when they discovered additional water damage under the kitchen cabinets that had not been adequately dried by restoration company.  They planned the kitchen repairs in a way that it minimized our loss of kitchen use.
They were very helpful in explaining our flooring options. They helped us to select a new flooring color when it turned out that the color we previously had was no longer available.
We have used Willis Builders for other jobs as well, including a major home addition and a new bathroom.  They did a great job on these projects, and have made warranty fixes as needed. They are first people we call when we need other work done.  We highly recommend Willis Builders.

"I was extremely happy with the professionalism and the quality work exhibited by DBL Electric. The price was much less than my HVAC company. Deybi came out in advance to ensure there would be no surprises. I recommend this company without reservation and will use them again."

"Alex and his crew did a phenomenal job I can't say enough how well they executed their work. It was exceptional and the fact that they provided solutions instead of just trying to provide what I thought I wanted was a key factor One of the contractors, Nelson, was a phenomenal guy who did great work on a stairwell that we were converting from carpet to hardwood. I would definitely hire them again. The pricing and the timelines were what we discussed and the attention to detail was wonderful. The job want finished until we were satisfied with the end product and we were completely satisfied."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Balancing aesthetics with functionality amidst space planning is important. To do so, you could consider consulting both an interior designer and an architect to fulfill both these needs. Or you can tackle it on your own by prioritizing personal touches amidst space planning that add to the look but don't take away from the livability of the space.

Yes, designers collaborate with contractors and engineers to ensure a smooth construction process.

Most towns and cities have regulations regarding sign dimensions for businesses. If you're opening a new business, contact the town or city's local zoning board to see the specifications you need to follow when getting your sign created. There may also be rules regarding how high your sign can sit. Be sure to learn about specifications before having your sign made. Sign companies generally won't offer refunds once custom signs have been fabricated.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.
