"We needed our boiler replaced and had multiple companies come and look at the job. We ended up selecting Sila as we read good reviews on the company. Sila surpassed our expectations. The tech who performed the install (Gage) was on time, communicated the entire process to us from start to finish and did a tremendous job. He also made sure to clean up afterwards and was very professional. We would absolutely hire Sila again!"

"New refrigerator purchased and in process of removing old unit found that copper water line was crimped badly.  I also wanted the saddle valve at source replaced with a more reliable vale, so I called HL Bowman for estimate on a Thursday.  Quoted price of $40 travel fee and $75 per hour was most reasonable among the high quality providers, and plumber came out on Monday.  He worked thru a slightly challenging installation with ease, with a lot of running up and down to basement.  Had a new valve and coiled copper wire installed in about 90 minutes.  Not cheap but work done at a much higher level of quality than before.

"Boiler installation. Michael and his team did an excellent job replacing my leaking boiler with a new, efficient one. His quick communication, thoughtful explanations, professional workmanship, and competitive pricing (better than three other offers) made him the clear choice. I highly recommend working with them."

"Excellent - I would definitely consider hiring Addario, Inc. again. From start to finish my home service - the removal and installation of my garbage disposal - was excellent."

"I was very pleased with all aspects of my boiler installation. Joe explained the options thoroughly, clearly answered all my questions, and wrote a detailed quote for the work. The quote was the best I received. Within 2 days, my old boiler was removed, and the following day the new one was installed. The work was done efficiently and carefully. They left my cellar clearer than it was when they started. I am glad that I chose Concept Energy Management. They did a great job."

"They used my original flagstone and removed broken concrete joints and replaced it with new concrete. The repair is a huge improvement. It looks better now than the day it was installed. I have no doubt it will last for ages. I am very happy with the professionalism of the staff. They had originally quoted me an extensive redo of the step that was triple the money, but when I explained I only wanted a simple repair, and I did not want to redo the foundation, they were very understanding and adjusted the scope of the work from one full day to a 3 hour repair. I am selling the house and did not want the expense. This was a Angie's "big deal" so I got a $300 discount on the work. I was not home when the did the repair, but when I came home, everything was neat and clean. I would definitely use them again. They showed up when scheduled, and appreciate that they did not view my request as "too small" for them."

"In both cases Eddie was very professional and very responsive. He did an excellent job and he left the place very clean. The price was reasonable and we appreciated a discount. We had first hired him a year ago to install an outdoors faucet, we appreciated his quality of his work and his pleasant attitude, and we keep calling him. We would definitely recommend him."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The cost of heating oil fluctuates rapidly based on supply and demand, but the average price is between $4.00 and $4.50 per gallon, which means filling a standard 275-gallon tank would cost between $1,100 and $1,240. Much like automotive gasoline, the price of home heating oil changes constantly, so the only way to get an accurate and current price per gallon is to contact a heating oil delivery company. Some companies also offer contracts with a set price that should be an average cost over the contract term.

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.

In most cases, repairing a radiator is more affordable than replacing it. A typical repair may cost between $100 and $200, while a replacement can average $1,500, with a range of $250 to $2,500 depending on the unit type. Radiator issues are often simple fixes for a professional, such as a blown fuse, malfunctioning thermostat, or a loose valve, and can take less than an hour. However, if the long-term costs of fixing the radiator are higher than replacement, it's better to get a new model. It is recommended to consult a heating expert to diagnose the problem and determine the best solution for your situation.

If you’re looking for a way to heat your home that is lower in cost and higher in efficiency, you should run the numbers to see what it would look like to switch to gas or electric heat. The best choice for how to heat your home depends on your location, budget, and energy priorities.

When winter rolls around, and you turn the heat on for the first time in a year, it’s normal to sense a light odor. This could smell a little like burning because some dust has gathered in the heating unit over the warm months and will fade away shortly after. However, there are some smells you should watch out for and take caution around: an egg-like sulfur smell or an electrical burn odor would indicate there’s something wrong. Turn it off and call a professional for maintenance as soon as possible.
