"I just had Blue Bear Plumbing replace my 33-year-old boiler. They were AMAZING from the second I called call in!!! Angi was super friendly and helpful and got me scheduled same day. Which was awesome because I had no heat, and more importantly no hot water!!!!! Kyle a project manager was out that afternoon to take a look at my boiler and help me decide on the perfect replacement for me, which ended up being a Bosch “combo” boiler. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy to understand. He even found that my boiler was way too small for my house, which is why my living room never got up to temperature!!! It even looks so cool in my basement, especially compared to that big old metal box that used to be down there, I actually love it! He has an amazing attention to detail, meticulous, and puts safety above all else. When he realized my boiler couldn’t be put in just yet because of further water damage, he had a water remediation company come in TWO hours to instantly start the process. When he realized my hoses needed updating, he made sure to call it to my attention and had them switched out. For work outside of his scope, he still makes sure to let you know what’s the best for future proofing your home. Above all, he’s communicative, on time, honest, and always there when I have a question. Plus, you can tell he really cares about his craft, and that translates to the job. "UIC was quick to respond and come up with the quote. Quote was very competitive against others. They were not so eager to do service on my old water heater though (I asked them to replace anode rods). I decided to go with them since their availability was good (2wks) and ratings on AngiesList were excellent while price was competitive. The job went well, though not without hiccups. I was expecting new boiler to be placed on the wall next to the foundation; though they built a new wall in the middle of the mechanical room, which costed me space; they said it will be 3K more to put in on the wall AFTER they arrived on the job with all the equipment and team. They refused to drain old water from my radiant heat system, saying I need a plumber to come for $290 per hour for 4 hours to drain the system and look for preexisting leaks. Had to hire some other plumber who took care of the problem for $215 in a mere hour. After the project was complete, system started to experience leaks. It was due to new drain connector that they decided to use for this project, and I was apparently first customer for it. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the leak, they had to replace the connector, which addressed the issue. In addition, the system was eligible for rebate; however the rebate amount promised ended up being $450 less than actually paid; they quoted natural gas rebate though my system was on propane, which I told them upfront."

After I requested an estimate, I got a quick call from the office to schedule a time for one of their comfort advisors to come out to our home. Sam, my comfort advisor was very knowledgeable, and I appreciated his low pressure presentation. Once the work was booked, because our installation was complex, Joe came out and came up with a plan to vent the exhaust on the side of my house to minimize the number of pipes on the front of my house. The installation went very well, and they installed a temporary water heater so we were only without hot water for less than a day. For the day we were without heat, they brought in plenty of space heaters to make us comfortable for that night. "The removal and installation went very well. Darren, our contact, evaluated our heating requirements and specified a state of the art high efficient system as we requested. Darren and Atlantic Heating & A/C also accommodated our request to bring the system on line before the upcoming cold weather. They successfully completed the work by mid October. The removal of the old equipment and the installation of the new system went smoothy with minimum impact on our home. The crew was highly skilled and very professional. We were also grateful that Atlantic Heating prepared the application for a rebate from the gas company. We received the rebate within a couple weeks of completion of the work.
