Central Security offers customized security systems for commercial, industrial and residential facilities in Indianapolis and throughout Indiana. We are Indiana's largest independently owned security company, specializing in fire, burglary, CCTV and card access systems.
"Absolutely terrible company. Their equipment is old and does not function well. Unless I am standing directly next to the alarm panel, I cannot hear when the alarm has gone off. When I am upstairs at night, I have no idea if my alarm is going off. If I can't trust an alarm system to even wake me up when someone breaks into my house, then it has failed at its job. They lock you into long-term contracts (3 years) that will auto-renew for another 3 years unless you cancel before hand. There isn't even an option for early termination. Staff is difficult to reach. They even charge a higher monthly rate than many other companies. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with every aspect of this company, and would recommend literally any other security company over them."

A seven bay shop on the westside of Indianapolis with 4 mechanics doing a wide variety of mechanical issues. Been in business for 21 years
"A moment ago I took my car here on Sunday due to a cable that was broken for my gear shift. They were able to fix it with no problems but the only issue I have is this.. When the mechanic called me to tell me what the part was going to cost, I asked if they could rotate my tires too. Due to a prior experience the week before, I had my oil changed and asked for them to rotate my tires at Best One in Indy off of 86th st. I had subtly marked them because places will tell me they did it...comes to find out they don't. I was charged the extra fee as well. I called them to tell them they didn't and the guy INSISTED they did, and he did it personally. Although I'm frustrated because now this is the second time it hasn't been done, I won't be taking it back there. Dishonest business much?"

"This is the worst company, DO NOT do business with them. We are finally at the end of our three year contract and I still can't get out. There have been so many issues and no one answers the phone, do not call back to your voicemails and they do not respond to emails. Alarm. com will not help you because you went thru Vault. I finally sent a certified mail post ( with the help of an attorney) and told my credit card we will be declining future charges to finally end this nightmare."

The average cost of a home security system is about $700, ranging from $280 to $1,150. Costs to consider include equipment, surveillance fees, and other additional features. Cost factors that determine your system’s price include the type of security system, materials, labor, activation fees, monthly fees, and permits. Additional features and upgrades may include:
Video surveillance monitoring: $40–$65 per month
Smart home locks: $150
Smart home lighting: $15–$90
Smart smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide alarms: $35–$100
Smart thermostat: $130–$500
Yes, a home security system can be worth it for your peace of mind alone, but it can also save you up to 20% on your home insurance. The insurance savings will help defray the initial setup costs and subscription costs over time. Locations with higher crime rates also make home security systems a valuable investment, but it ultimately depends on your personal preferences and asset values.
With the popularity of DIY security cameras and video surveillance systems, it’s important to understand the benefits and potential drawbacks to decide if it’s the right choice for you. Advantages and disadvantages include:
Pros
Video footage readily available
Reduced home insurance
Save on labor costs by installing security cameras yourself
Wireless systems are easy to move and set up
Monitor from your smartphone
Avoid false alarms
Cons
Features may be vulnerable to hackers
No direct link to authorities
Risk of installing the system improperly, reducing its effectiveness
Whether a security system or security cameras is a better choice for you depends on your needs and preferred comfort level. A security system can cost more depending on the features you choose, but it’s a more proactive and protective approach to home security by alerting you and authorities of any emergencies. Using a security camera system is a more reactive approach because while you can monitor the camera footage, it does not alert the proper authorities for you.
Understanding the pros and cons of installing a home security system is the first step to deciding which one is right for you. A few of the advantages and disadvantages include:
Pros
Added security for your household
Reduced home insurance premiums
Many smart home integrations available
Security companies can monitor your home
Cons
Expensive setup costs
Subscription costs can add up quickly
Features may be vulnerable to hackers
Weak signal reduces the security of a wireless system
