  • A la Carte Property Services LLC
    5.0
A la Carte has always done an excellent job! They are quick to respond, competitive on cost, and I've always been pleased with the work. The owner is always willing to offer suggestions that will make the project less expensive or better than I envisioned. A la Carte is my go to company when I have a problem with my own home or when a renter calls to report a problem. As a landlord, it is SO nice to have a go to company that can handle anything and everything I throw at them. There have been times when we have been out of town and a renter has called with a problem and I've been able to pass it off to A la Carte with complete confidence that it will be fixed. If they can't do it, they will be able to refer you to someone who can that is also honest and reliable. I've recommended them to many friends and family (my parents live 3 hours away and hired them to come remodel a bathroom because they were that much better than the options they had available locally!

We've had them out several times. They do a really good job. The work was very thorough. They are very responsible and they are reasonable. It takes a day or two to finish the job. The workers are quite good, knowledgeable. The clean up after themselves.

  • Express Plumbing Service

Everything went great. We had a hard time locating the septic tank because we had never pumped it before and the map provided by southwest district was too old. They came out with a locator ball and followed it electronically from the toilet all the way to the septic tank. Once it was found the very friendly gentleman offered to dig to expose the septic lid for a minimal fee. Once it was dug up he pumped out the sewage, did full visual inspection of the tank and baffle, cleaned it out real good, and put it all back together. He explained everything step by step so there weren't any surprises along the way. Very professional and courteous and would recommend them to anyone

  • Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Appreciated the punctuality, and the fact that he recommended we did not need to have the second tank pumped (for a small cottage, with only my mother in residence). Really nice to encounter that level of integrity! Makes using this company regularly, for all related service - and recommending them to others - a no-brainer

  • Bivin's Excavating Inc

Bob was very pleasing and professional to work with. I have learned that there are quite a few scammers and flakey people in this industry. I highly recommend calling Bob if you need your drain field replaced. I also learned that no one will put your yard back together after the job. This was somewhat disappointing. Bob will grade the dirt flat but its up to the home owner to fix sprinklers and replant. I guess that's just the industry. Job was complete in 3 days

I called Express Plumbing Service to pump my septic tank. The office lady was great to work with and told me someone could be here that day. The guy showed up on time and was very professional. He dug up my tank lid and pumped the tank. Afterwords he explained how the septic system works and gave me advice on keeping it maintained. I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing or septic services

  • Perfect Plumbing, Heating and Air

A1 Plumbing is very competent and professional. The start date of the job was slightly delayed because their pump truck was being serviced, but once scheduled they arrived exactly when they said they would despite a snowstorm. Our septic tank had never before been pumped and we didn't know the exact location of the access port, which turned out to be buried under a section of lawn approximately where we thought it must be. To determine the exact location, A1 had to send for additional equipment and crew; they had let me know in advance that this might be the case. The entire job, start to finish, took about 4 hours. Once located, A1 carefully and neatly excavated the access port by hand and presented us with several options for making it easier (less expensive) to locate the access port in the future

    Septic Tank Service FAQ

    1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

    2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

    3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

    4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

    5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

    6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
