"John the Plumber for Degennaro, was courteous and efficient. He was able to perform the job on the same day as the bid/estimate. He installed our toilets and left a very clean worksite. I would hire Degennaro again, if I have another plumbing project."

"Joe cleared the sink drain and turned the water off because I needed a new faucet. The old one was leaking and it was an expensive faucet so the repair would be expensive. I needed a new faucet because that one was corroded. He also checked the toilet to see if the water flow was o.k. and it was. Next I went out to Home Depot and purchased another wide spread faucet. Called Joe and he came out to install it. He is very courteous and efficient. He answered all of my questions. I would definitely hire Phill's Plumbing again."

"The plumber spent a lot of time just trying to figure out the source of the hidden leak. He had a lot of patience. The quality of work was good as was the price. I would definitely hire them again."

"After discovering a leak (probably in the slab) of hot water, we just decided to replace the entire plumbing piping in our 30 years old 2 story house with 3 bathrooms. The copper pipes were replaced by durable flexible plastic pipes and the project also included replacing the water heater. The crew- Manny, Mitch and Josh promised to finish the project in 3 days- and they sure did it. The GREAT TEAM, efficient and professional, worked non stop and communicated with me before taking each next step. They reconnected about 20 points (such as washing machine, dishwasher, new water heater, multiple faucets and 3 toilets) The price is a little steep but the quality of the job looks very good."

"I have 3 Kohler Rialto one piece toilets that are very difficult to repair.  The toilet seats attachment connections are not accessible so you have to remove anchors from the top and then insert and attach new anchors.  I replaced the seats on a couple of them myself and it was an incredibly difficult process of trying to drill or break out the old anchors.  Adding the new ones seems easy.  Unfortunately if you tighten the new anchor too much it can expand and crack the toilet.  Which I did.
So now I had to replace one of the toilets.
I contacted Albano's and explained that I needed to have the toilet replaced in the next two days because my wife was returning from a trip and would be very unhappy that I destroyed one of our toilets while she was gone.
They sent Eric out within 30 minutes with the new toilet, at less than it cost from Home Depot, and he completely removed and replaced the toilet perfectly.
These are expensive toilets.  However, they told me up front what it would cost including service and they did exactly what they said for exactly the price they told me.  No shenanigans.
Eric was extremely helpful and professional.  I will definitely use them again if I need any plumbing done.

"Professional, patient, and honest! I had a plumbing emergency when all our plumbing backed up in our "new", older home in Lakewood. I put in an appointment with my home insurance company AHS who sent another plumbing company right away; that plumber tried to snake the back up from every line, took my toilets off and flooded my bathrooms to no avail.. To sum it up they didn't fix the problem and said I needed to repipe my whole system which would cost $8 to $10k oop, not including my wood flooring they'd have to destroy to get to the pipe. My husband and I were devastated. Luckily those ***** never followed up so I called Mr Rooter and Gary, the supervisor, said he would come the next day with a camera. He was very patient and explained that it could be multiple things, and to not jump to conclusions the other plumber had suggested, which was drastic. Andy and Gary came the next morning and sent a camera down finding the blockage. They showed me everything on the camera before and after and explained everything along the way. They hydro- jetted the blockage for $550, a fraction of what the other plumber was suggesting. Their pricing is up front, and in a company 'menu' they carry around. They even cleaned the big mess the other plumber left with their shop vac. You get what you pay for, you could go to a less experienced, cheaper plumber.. But with something as important as plumbing I wouldn't risk it and am so grateful I found Mr Rooter.

"Johnny was on time, came fully prepared, friendly, and had a great attitude. Ignore those expensive "smell good" plumber commercials! Replaced 2 toilet flanges and reset both toilets for a third less than competitor's quote! I'm not looking forward to more plumbing problems in this 60 year old house, but I now know who to call!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

To keep your toilet in good working order, replace the toilet fill valve every five years. Toilets get quite a workout, so while toilet maintenance may not be on top of your to-do list, it’s essential to keep up with it to ensure your toilet is in good working order and ready when needed.

Sometimes, your insurance policy may cover leaking toilet repair. However, home insurance policies typically do not cover any plumbing problems. They do cover water damage caused by a busted pipe or a major leak. Some insurance companies also have riders that expand your initial coverage to include plumbing items. Talk to your agent for more information.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

The Thanksgiving holiday period is one of the busiest times of the year for plumbers. Both Thanksgiving Day and the day after, often called Black Friday or "Brown Friday" by plumbing professionals, see a significant increase in service requests. This is because a house full of guests, large holiday meals, and unfamiliarity with the home's plumbing can lead to clogged drains, garbage disposal issues, and sewer line backups. Outside of the holidays, the busiest weekdays for plumbers are typically Monday and Tuesday, as many people discover plumbing problems over the weekend but wait to call for service. Despite the holiday, you can rest assured that many plumbers work on Thanksgiving and Black Friday to handle the surge in emergency calls.
