"As we all know hot water is a necessity especially when it comes to bathing children or other needs. I found the water heater wizard on Yelp because of there reviews and was impressed by how fast the technician was responded to my plumbing issue with no hot water. He gave me a few options and I decided to go with a tankless water only because there was a rebate and endless hot water. The wizard got right to it and had me and my family up in running with hot water within a few hrs. Thank you to the wizard for working your magic on meeting our needs! Highly recommended and a continuing customer"

"Installation went smoothly. I've had the system for about 5 years and I recommend it highly. The water tastes great. We don't buy water anymore. Our pipes are protected from mineral buildup. Very pleased with our purchase."

"I used Riviera Plumbing to replace a functioning, but very old, water heater and received outstanding service from the owner, Cuyler Kittle, and his very capable assistant, Raphael. Cuyler was quick to respond to my messages, arrived on time as promised, did an inspection the day before to go over the project with me and explain all the details and the advantages of the brand of water heater he used (Bradford-White), and then performed the job itself quickly and efficiently, leaving the area clean and neat. Furthermore, they came back the following day to try and fix blockage I had in a 50' drain pipe that siphoned rain water from my gutters out to the street. They worked their rears off trying to get the pipe clear, and after 3 hours of hard labor finally achieved success. The total cost for these two jobs was quite reasonable. Another plus is that they are friendly and have a fine sense of humor as they work. I HIGHLY recommend Cuyler and Riviera Plumbing and will be happily using them for all my future plumbing needs."

"On July 19, 2019 Richco repaired a corroded water inlet pipe where it enters through a stucco wall. This included replacing pipe in the wall and shut-off valves for a nearby sink. New supply hoses were included. The technician, Fernando, produced excellent results to my complete satisfaction."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.

Softener systems extend appliance life spans, improve skin and hair health, and reduce pipe buildup by removing minerals like calcium and magnesium.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.

It’s not a good idea to oversize your water softener. Doing so will mean the tank doesn’t get full, which can lead to channeling. This leads to a large portion of the resin beads not being utilized and the beads at the bottom of the tank being overused. Over time, this will reduce the efficiency of your system, not to mention that the upfront cost of an oversized softener is unnecessarily high. If you have a timed regeneration cycle rather than a demand-based one, you’ll also spend far more on replacing salt than you need to.

Yes. To get soft water, you can install a water softening system, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners cost anywhere from $200 to $6,000, depending on the size and complexity of the system. You can either install a water softener for the whole house or just at your shower heads. If you’re sensitive to sodium or potassium, you can install a salt-free water conditioner.
