"Jose Hernandez does excellent work at a fair price! What more could you ask of a professional? Our water heater died and I called Jose at 9am. He squeezed us in, came at 3:30 pm and stayed until the job was done at 9 pm. I do not know any other craftsman who would do that! Prior to this water heater replacement, Jose replaced our whole house pressure regulator last year. He is a perfectionist and cleans up any mess. He will work with you to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Whatever your plumbing project, from new construction to additions to repairs, I would recommend Jose Hernandez above all others without hesitation. Rich P. Thousand Oaks"

"I initially called another highly rated plumber listed on Angi (in addition to issues with water heater, I had a kitchen sink faucet to install and clogged drain). When the plumber arrived, he looked things over and said they get an estimate to me later in the day (they had no intention of performing any work during this visit even though I had asked when making the appointment). A few hours later I received my estimate which included a replacement water heater when no diagnostics had been done on the my unit . . . absolutely none (plumber literally looked at it and that was it). I started looking for another company and came across The Water Heater Company (also had great reviews), but I still reached out to a friend of mine to ask if she had a company to refer (she is would let anyone pull the wool over her eyes) and she told me she used The Water Heater Company. That was all I needed to hear and immediately called. I spoke with an associate by the name of Billy and he could not have been any nicer and was very knowledgeable. Billy took the time to ask specific questions and had me flip breaker switches so that he had have some basic diagnostics to include in the service call. Kevin was the tech who came out and again, I cannot be complementary enough. He was nice, knowledgeable and explained everything after he did a thorough diagnostic. Long story short, the issue was the power coming into the unit, but he didn't stop there. He investigated the issue further and found there had been a "fire/explosion" of sorts where the wiring was connected to the top of unit. He removed the damaged wiring and reconnected the water heater and it's working beautifully! Kevin gave me a full cost breakdown of a new unit just in case I run into another issue (my unit is about 6 years old). I received email receipt of the repair along with a cost of a new unit if/when the time comes. I am not sure where The Water Heater Company's pricing falls within the range of others, but I'd hi"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Hard water that is caused by high concentrations of calcium, magnesium, and potassium in a water supply is the leading cause of buildup in pipes. Hard water can be fixed by different types of water purification.

No, all faucets are not compatible with all sinks. Because your countertops and your sink likely have a set number of holes already built in, you’ll need to find a faucet with the same amount of holes to work with your existing sink.

Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. Once dried out, the minerals also catch dirt and bacteria which eventually accumulate into the brown or blackish stain you see in your toilet. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.

Yes, you should always call a plumber to replace a pipe that you fixed with a temporary solution. Some temporary pipe leak solutions like pipe leak clamps can last for years and prevent further damage to your home, but eventually, they will fail, at which point you could be looking at more significant water damage and mold growth. Even if you suspect that your temporary solution will last a long time, always call a plumber for a permanent fix. Temporary solutions should be for minimizing damage and avoiding added charges for emergency plumbing services.

Adding another bathroom isn’t the most complicated project you can undertake, but it’s in the top 5%. Anything involving plumbing and electrical work should be handed off to a pro, and adding a half bath involves both. A contractor may charge $70 to $120 an hour for labor, but chances are they can work much faster and more accurately than a DIYer.
