"Kelvin is outstanding! He is a master electrician who is professional and courteous. I explained the problem with a few keys words he immediately had a solution. In no time he had the parts, replaced them and not only is the problem I had fixed, the electricity in the whole house now runs brighter and better than before! "Brian came over, gave me an estimate that I thought was very reasonable and he started the job. I was running conduit and wiring about 35' from the breaker box to an area by my fish pond. It looks really good and it works really good. Brian was easy to communicate and his rates are very reasonable. I actually have a friend who owns his own company and I know he wouldn't have done the job for the same rate Brian gave me. If you aren't using Chapillo electric you are missing out."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Window ACs use 500 to 1,400 watts per hour of electricity, while mini-splits use 500 to 700 watts per hour. However, if you need to cool multiple zones in your house, your mini-split can use as much as 2,000 watts per hour. How often you run your system will impact how much electricity you use (and how much you pay per month).

Unless you have prior electrical experience, it’s best to hire a professional to install your new thermostat for you. Improper installation can damage wiring, lead to a blown fuse, and more.

There are various reasons why an electrical outlet can stop working. You might have to do some detective work to understand whether it’s a problem with the attached appliance, the outlet itself, or a faulty breaker. Sometimes, old age or loose wiring are to blame; other times, it can be as simple as an overloaded circuit tripping the system and cutting power. If you’re troubleshooting doesn’t solve the mystery or repairs, or replacements are required, it’s time to call in the pros.

No, you shouldn’t immediately reset a tripped breaker. If you don’t know what tripped the breaker, resetting it and continuing the actions that set it off could pose a hazard. It also means your breaker will sustain greater damage if it trips again. If you know the cause of your tripped power, unplug faulty appliances or fix the issues, then reset it, and wait a few minutes before using electricity in that circuit.

Electric bills tend to be lower in spring and fall because people use less electricity during these seasons. Milder temperatures allow for less use of heating and cooling, unlike during winter and summer, which usually bring more extreme temperatures.
