Five employees, locally owned, We provide the best service possible to each and every customer. We thrive on having high quality workmanship, along with superior customer service.

"I was first impressed by the quality products that were offered. I had 3 contractors provide me with an estimate and the other 2 offered older furnaces/ACs. Lakeshore HVAC had the modern products I wanted. I also thought John was very easy to work with. He was very polite and easy going, especially since I was using a loan program to pay for the furnace. The installation went smooth and the men who came were very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this business over several of the more popular ones in the area based on the experiences I have had with them."

"Neumann Plumbing & Heating, their company, staff, and the installation team did excellent work in providing us with a new Rheem A/C and furnace. We felt very comfortable discussing all of our options with them while making our decision. Their installation team did a fantastic job and left our basement as clean or cleaner than when they started. And best of all, with all the hot weather we have had this 2025 summer, the system has worked perfectly and kept our home very comfortable. Thanks to all the staff and installers for their efforts and service. We look forward to working with Neumann Plbg. and Htg. again in the future for our home care needs. KW"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Many HVAC manufacturers provide warranties that encompass the cost of a new compressor, with durations ranging from 5 to 10 years, depending on the brand. These warranties cover critical components such as the compressor, condenser, connecting tubing, evaporator, and refrigerant charge. Moreover, they often include the necessary labor for replacement or repairs. Keep in mind that premium-brand compressors may offer lifetime warranty options. It's essential to note that these warranties rarely cover labor costs.

Usually, ductwork is not included when you purchase a new HVAC system; it needs to be purchased separately. As far as installation, you’d need to speak with your local duct installer or HVAC technician directly to learn what their services include, but having your entire ductwork system replaced is likely to be more expensive than simply having your new AC unit installed without ductwork replacement.

Your AC might not cool after a power outage because of a tripped circuit breaker, blown fuse, or damage to the compressor or capacitor. If you notice your AC not working after a power outage, in most cases, the breaker has tripped or the system has built-in brownout and blackout protection. Reboot the AC by turning it off at the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, and waiting 30 minutes to turn the AC on again.

Is mold in an air conditioner dangerous? Running an air conditioner with mold isn’t safe because it can spread harmful mold spores throughout your home. These spores may cause respiratory problems, allergies, or aggravate asthma in household members and guests. If you suspect there is mold hiding in your air conditioner, it’s best to stop using the HVAC system until the mold is cleaned to avoid health risks and further contamination.

Capacitors are the most frequent part of an HVAC system to experience failure. These components are crucial for starting the motors that power the fans and compressor, but over time, they may become worn or fail due to electrical surges or regular wear and tear. When capacitors malfunction, HVAC systems may experience decreased heating or cooling efficiency, or even total system failure. Replacement or maintenance of capacitors is a common requirement for the optimal functioning of HVAC systems.
