"goodl. Monty showed up on time and went out of his way to help complete a job. He came to our home, took the broken shade with him and when it was clear that he could not fix it himself he called us, then went to Home Depot and brought back the sample book with the shade he thought most closely matched. With our ok he ordered it, brought it to us and installed the shade. The color matches almost perfectly. We are very happy with Monty's work.

Legacy Custom Remodeling is a home remodeling contractor serving the greater Madison WI area. Specializing in decks and pergolas, pavilions, home additions, and kitchens, bathrooms, and basement remodeling.
"My husband and I were looking to expand our home's usable living space as our kids are fast turning into teenagers. We wanted more than a bland yet finished basement--we wanted to make it look great, and to use every possible inch of space. Legacy Custom helped us do just that, and more.
Josh Wanta of Legacy Custom guided us to develop a plan that met all of our needs, most of our wants, and within our budget. He invested time and boundless energy to design the spaces we wanted. From a beautiful fifth bedroom to full bath with walk-in shower to custom bar to big screen theater to a finished utility room--we got it all. The difference maker was Legacy Custom's willingness and talent to customize anything. My favorite features are the built in book shelves, wrapping paper drawers and an amazingly functional roll out drawer storage unit--all custom designed and under the same set of stairs.
The custom bar and cabinets made of beautiful dark walnut custom cabinets make it a relaxing environment that we can entertain or just chill out with friends and family. It frames the big screen my husband always wanted, and that I enjoy more than I'll ever admit. Legacy Custom tailored all of the custom cabinets to work perfectly with our theater screen and entertainment equipment; the subcontractors actually enjoyed our job, appreciated the advance planning and looked forward to coming on site.
There was significant rework to move plumbing, furnace and electrical before we could start the project. So many decisions that we didn't have the time or skill to take on--it had kept us from starting the project for seven years. Legacy Custom had the industry knowledge and managed the subcontractors to get it done right, the first time. I enjoyed not having to make those detailed decisions or scheduling all the contractors. In the end, we had only one minor call-back for the electrical inspector--we passed with flying colors.
Josh also presented us with tough decisions that we didn't realize had to be made. We chose to extend water and gas to the garage while the basement ceiling was still unfinished, as well as running home audio to the garage and first and second floors. Those would have been expensive, or very limiting, misses, later.
Our whole family now races to the basement to let the fun times begin, every day! We're already the "cool house" where our kid's friends want to come visit. It was worth every penny, and we're looking around the rest of the house to see what else Legacy Custom can do for us. We recommend Legacy Custom to anyone who wants to get it done right.

"There’s a lot to love about this small company, formed when its owner, Scott Daniel, put together a team of some of his pals with experience working at big-box remodeling companies in south central Wisconsin. We chose Daniel Company Bathrooms after getting six estimates for our project, remodeling two bathrooms in conjunction with a skylight installation by another company. DC’s estimator Nick is patient, knowledgeable, and listens. He worked hard to bring us as close as possible to our vision, referring us to local wholesalers whose products are available exclusively to contractors. DC gets a small percentage of the sales, but it’s still cheaper than shopping retail and better than going with big-box remodelers. Our project manager, Casey is a genuine craftsman who takes pride in his workmanship. Our foreman, Brian, dealt patiently with issues as they cropped up. DC subcontracts both an electrician, who’s capable, painters, and a tiling team, Steven Wolf. Steven is the real star of the operation, a talented artist who prides himself on his precision and hard work. He pulled our project off brilliantly. As with any ambitious remodeling project, unforeseen issues came up. One had to do with the installation of a recessed medicine cabinet. We bought the cabinet, a double trough-style sink, and a skylight with the same dimensions so that these items would line up. Unfortunately, a hidden electrical box behind a wall prevented us from aligning the medicine cabinet, which ended up being off conspicuously by 3 inches. Another issue involved a cement partition, hidden behind another wall, that threatened to prevent installation our soaking tub. Fortunately, DC found a way. Two other setbacks involved human error. The first had to do with forgetting to put in an opening for the water line to the handheld shower fitting. Using photos of the interior before it was tiled over, DC figured out where to drill. The second had to do with the slide bar for a handheld shower being installed incorrectly, off by inches. Fixing it perfectly would’ve involved retiling. Admirably, DC apologized for the error, took responsibility, and worked to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. Setting aside these human errors, which are understandable and forgivable, my only slight criticism has to do with a certain disconnect among the workers and the owner. This disconnect was visible, for example, in the way DC dealt with a loud ceiling fan they had installed. We had purchased 2 “whisper” fans, one of which did not whisper. DC couldn’t adjust it. The owner insisted the problem must be a manufacturer’s defect, not DC’s installation, and DC can’t stand behind products they have not approved. The only problem is that DC had approved them. Before purchasing the fans, I had run the specs by the estimator, who okayed them. When I pointed this out to the owner, he replied that the estimator is basically a salesman. The project also ran a couple of weeks over the contracted completion date. To DC’s credit, even after the project was done and paid for, they still dispatched workers at no cost to swap out temporary parts with the proper parts that arrived late because of supply chain issues. Were it not for the minor grumble about communication, and the fact that getting hold of the estimator to nail down some details was occasionally difficult, Daniel Company Bathrooms would get an A+ from me. As things stand, I’d give them an “A” rating. Meaning I’d use them again without trying anyone else and would recommend DC Bathrooms highly to friends and family (so long as the home owner is persistent enough to make sure there’s no disconnect between the estimator, project manager, and owner). In short, Daniel Company Bathrooms is a reliable, professional, most excellent though small remodeling company that I would recommend highly!

"We received Patrick's name thru a family friend when we started looking into doing a kitchen remodel. We couldn't have asked for a better contractor to work with! He was very professional, always prompt and was excellent at communicating with us. His workmanship is outstanding and it is easy to see that he takes pride in it. He also left things spotless at the end of each work day. We are thrilled with our tile back splash and will certainly hire Patrick for future projects. A+++

"Brisc Plumbing provided a cost competitive quote the same day requested and performed the work the next. The owner, a master plumber, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and even provided his expertise on another plumbing issue we were experiencing. The removal of the leaky heater was handled so our carpets and finished wood floors were protected. The work area was cleaned better than initially found. They were adhering to the new COVID 19 safety guidelines. The next day we had a question about the new heater and the owner quickly answered saying hello and using my first name. We wanted clarification which he gladly provided. The final cost matched the quote. We would gladly use Brisc Plumbing for future plumbing issues.

Sump pumps—the machines that protect your basement from water damage—require proper maintenance. Regular cleaning and testing will help extend your unit’s lifespan. This guide explains the importance of sump pump maintenance.
It can be tricky to install a new bathroom sink, but if you follow these seven steps, the installation will go a whole lot easier. You can expect a DIY project to take about an afternoon, unless you decide to hire a plumber instead.
Answer: The cost of a plumber ranges from $175 to $480, with a national average of $330. However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. These costs typically include toilet repairs, faucet installations, and leaky pipes. In addition to the service call, you may also need to budget for haul-away and trip fees often required during more complicated jobs. Ask your local plumbing contractor about these fees before hiring them.
How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?
Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Depending on the brand you choose and the features you want, a new toilet might run you anywhere from $100 to $1,300. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.
How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?
Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.
Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?
Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.
How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?
Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.
Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?
Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
