"We recently had our flagstone patio renewed by Moore Design and could not be happier with the results. The crew was professional and hardworking throughout the project. Working with John was especially easy — he was responsive, straightforward, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. The patio looks fantastic and the quality of the work really shows. Highly recommend Moore Design! Would definitely hire them again."

"I highly recommend Horizon Landscaping. They were extremely responsive and knowledgeable from the project design and quote all the way to completion. I made several changes in materials and design partway through and it was no issue for them. Their workmanship is excellent and their workers are courteous, which was important with neighbors being close to the worksite. They even came back at no cost after the project was completed when I requested some changes after a big storm. I plan on using them again if any new projects come up!"

"Spectacular work product. Incredible customer service and communication. Very reasonably priced. Meticulous work. Efficient and timely. Tremendous value for your investment. Mottern Masonry removed our gazebo and replaced it with a stamped concrete patio and stone fireplace. The patio is partially lined with 25 inch tall sitting wall. They also repaired our brick front walkway, some stone work on the façade of our home and some minor pavement cracks. The project went exactly how Jeff Mottern said it would go, and turned out better than we could have imagined. Jeff grew up in the masonry business and it shows. Jeff and his team are gifted professionals, kind and excellent communicators. Weather permitting, they worked non-stop from the moment they started until the project was completed. Right on time and right on budget. The stone work on the wall and the fireplace is stunning. And when all of the building was completed, they graded and seeded the area around the patio, covered it with straw, and cleaned up the work areas as if they hadn’t been there. This was as perfect a home improvement project experience as we could hope to have. And to top it off, Jeff has a wonderful network of experienced carpenters, electricians and other resources to tap into as your projects may require. We are using three of those additional resources so far. We cannot recommend Mottern Masonry more."

"We have worked with Balteza Property Services on several home projects and they are always wonderful! Theyâ ve painted our wood paneled room (and fixed issues along the way), repaired damaged drywall in and painted our kitchen, painted our front door, repaired a damaged hallway wall, installed an outlet, and installed a light fixture. They are easy to schedule, we trust them to work on projects while weâ re away, and the end result always surpasses expectations. Happy to work with again in the future and to recommend."

"Moore Designs did a wonderful job on my deck. They were professional, here everyday and answered all my questions. The consultation was informative and he understood exactly what we wanted and drew it up. The team that put the deck and stair up worked fast and diligent. They finished in 1 week in the cold of winter no less. I will definitely recommend this team and use them again. Great job!"

"There is really no reason to go with anyone else—Exterior Works was the lowest price, most professional, and highest quality. I thought I had to choose between the high-cost, glossy brochure, licensed & reputable companies OR the cheap, unlicensed, pushy “if you ask for inspections the cost is double” contractors. Arafat quoted a much more reasonable price, gave excellent advice to help us build what would be most useful, never pressured us, and got all the appropriate permits & inspections. We were probably fairly high-maintenance clients, and Arafat was patient and kind, describing options as we went and modifying a ‘normal’ porch set up to reduce pollen so my highly allergic husband & daughters can enjoy the space. We absolutely love our new 3-season porch and pretty much live out here now. I strongly recommend going with Exterior Works for any outdoor project you have in mind."

"Summary:   Chris, (owner?)  of  Atlantic Deck Co. seemed to be interested in a simple "in-and-out" cookie cutter job, and didn't appear to have an interest in working on a custom design specification that has attention to detail in the design and specification phase.   I *think* that he is quite busy (was told that he had up to 2 months lead time before work could begin on a new contract).  That is great, but perhaps he has enough work to be choosy about which jobs to accept and which ones to turn away? Story from start to finish: I contacted Atlantic Deck Co via Angie's List in order to discuss with the contractor some DECK, FENCE, yard-walkway, GAZEBO, and BASEMENT work that my wife and I are considering doing at our home.  Chris from Atlantic Deck responded quickly and set up an appointment to meet us at our home to discuss the work and get details for an estimate of the costs.   Zeth showed up on time and with a photo album of work they have done in the past, material samples, and product line brochures.  We spoke with Zeth for about 2 hours while walking around the house and discussing our ideas.  We also provided Zeth with an itemized list of home improvements which he said Atlantic Deck CO. could help with all but one item.  Zeth spent an additional hour with us at hour home drawing an overhead diagram of the Deck outline, box step and lower Deck-like patio.  Zeth took notes and measurements and talked about ideas/options and concerns. During this in person meeting we had with Zeth he mentioned that based on the square footage an *estimate* for ONLY the deck surface itself would be about $30K.  At that time I had mentioned to him that I expected the cost to be in the 5 figure range, but to be closer to 20K than 30K  (referring to the *SAME* scope of work, namely the DECK SURFACE ONLY).  I also mentioned that we may not be able to all of the improvements this year, (considering the GAZEBO, and the BASEMENT work)  but that we could decide on precisely which items may need to be put off once we got an idea of the prices for all the line items.  Zeth then left us with the product brochures and said he would get back to us the following week with an estimate. Based on this first meeting, my wife and I were very pleased with our experience with Zeth and were quite confident that Atlantic Deck Co. was going to meet all our expectations. One week later we received an e-mail from Zeth, it contained 2 quite simple overhead drawings which were more precise, and neat than the ones he penciled in at our home, but were basically the same thing, also included was a spreadsheet with line item price quotes for only about one-third the items we had discussed and which had been given in writing and notated as we walked around the house.   I replied back to the e-mail asking for the quotes for the missing items and also asking for side-on (instead of "overhead") drawings of the design with respect to 3 specific items which could not be visualized in the overhead drawing and would be needed in order to agree upon the work to be done. I received an e-mail back almost immediately from Chris saying that Atlantic Deck doesn't provide anything but a simple overhead drawing of things with a "FREE quote" and that there was no sense in quoting things that were a few years out since the prices would be invalid in the future anyway. I replied stating that I was asking for drawings related to the determination by the customer (me) of wether what was being quoted and the price of those items was indeed what we envisioned would be delivered.  And that we wouldn't be able to *know* what would need to be done in the future and what could be done now unless we had an idea of what the prices for the items were.   I got an e-mail back almost instantly, again stating that 3-d drawings (which I had never asked for) were out of the question. And that we had been quoted more items than our budget limit.  (which I had never told them?)  And that Atlantic Deck didn't wish to provide work product (drawings) that could be used to get quotes from alternative contractors. Well... I never told Atlantic Deck what my budget was, and I never asked for any 3-D drawings.  I just wanted to know that when we agree to a price for an item that *IS* vertical as well as horizontal and deep, that the item's price as agreed upon is in fact VERTICAL and fits in with the roof-line and window-lines of the house (can't see that in an overhead only drawing). Zeth appeared to be a very smart, quick and confidence inspiring individual.  Chris is by letter and word very polite.  However to my ear, the tone of Chris's message is rather brusque.  As I mentioned before, I get the impression that he is busy enough that he can cherry-pick easy jobs and let the more complex ones slip by. It reminds me of that old Henry Ford quote about.  --You can have it any color you want, as long as you want black."

FAQs for gazebo service projects in Tysons, VA

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.

It might seem counterintuitive, but the best time to install a paver patio is during late fall to winter. The cold and wet weather of those seasons can help your patio installer perfect the foundation for your patio. Plus, you'll likely be able to find better sales and deals during the colder months when patio installation business is typically slower. Consult a local patio paver professional to determine the best time to install based on your area’s climate.

The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.

Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9 per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.

A paver patio can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years, depending on the type of pavers and how well you maintain them.

Travertine pavers are usually the most durable, lasting 100 years or more, with regular maintenance. Concrete brick pavers have a variety of shapes and colors available and typically last 25 to 50 years. Traditional brick pavers have a more classic look, lasting around 20 years with proper maintenance.

The cost of a paver patio is $3,800 for a 280-square-foot patio on average. Depending on the patio size, paver material, and design complexity, this cost can range from $2,400 to $7,000 or more.

The size of your patio is a significant factor in the project’s overall cost. If you're building a smaller patio of only 60 square feet, your costs will be closer to $480 to $1,500. If you want a more luxurious 900-square-foot patio, you'll spend closer to $7,200 to $22,500.
