"I can’t say enough good things about the work Matt did on my roof! We had multiple incidents of squirrel damage, and things were starting to get out of control. Matt came in, assessed the situation quickly, and handled every issue with incredible professionalism and skill. Not only did he fix all the damage, but he also went above and beyond to make sure everything was sealed up properly to prevent future problems. The final result? My roof looks brand new—like the damage never happened at all! I really appreciated how easy Matt was to communicate with, how promptly he got the work done, and the care he clearly puts into his craft. If you need roofing work done—especially if it’s something tricky like animal damage—Pro Systems Roofing should be your first call. Highly recommended!"

HCI Contracting, Inc. is a one stop shop ffor all home repair needs. We can take you through a project from start to finish, with no sub contracting. We provide service for residential and commercial properties.

"They showed up late to "look at the job". contrary to advertising the quote is not free, it cost $120. They didn't even look at the toilet. Their technician sent an estimate for $580 just to pump out water and remove a few bricks on the foundation for access. I responded back that I thought it was high, but asked them to proceed any how - no answer. called the office, and after two days of "I'll check into it" and we need to talk to the supervisor to see when we can schedule a repair", I was told they could get to it in 11 days just to get access to see if they could repair the leak - mind you this is for an active leak. I ended up driving 230 miles and fix the problem myself. the whole job took 5 hours, and I am not a professional. $120 for them to tell me what I already knew."

Fall is usually considered the best time of year to replace a roof, as the temperatures are moderate, and having your living space exposed to the outdoors won’t cause extreme temperatures inside. Spring could also work, but the higher risk of rainfall makes fall the best time of year overall. You can opt for a replacement in the summer or spring to avoid peak demand and potentially save some money, though.

During the framing process, builders connect the roof to the walls with materials, including metal connectors, plywood panels, and wood blocks. These roof-to-wall connections are important and provide weatherproofing, noise and temperature insulation, protection against pests, and home integrity. The type of connector and method used will vary, depending on your home’s construction and needs, and each has pros and cons in terms of cost, noise insulation, longevity, and reliability. Talk with your home or roofing contractor about the best connectors for your roof and walls, and what they recommend for your home.

The green coloration that develops on copper roofs is called a “patina,” and it’s a result of mild oxidation on the surface. The oxidation process is not harmful to your roof. In fact, the surface corrosion acts as a protective layer and won’t spread to the core of your copper roof materials. The discoloration will progress much more quickly in damp or humid climates than it will in dry climates. If you don’t like the green color, you can seal your roof to preserve the shiny, rose-gold look.

The easiest way to tell if your roof vent boot is leaking is to look in your attic for signs of water damage. You might see visible moisture, water spots, or mold on the roof decking around the roof vent or damaged or soggy insulation below it. If you don’t have access to your attic or aren’t sure if the vent boot is the issue, hire a professional to come inspect your roof and figure out the underlying issue.

Building an A-frame roof falls under the category of constructing a steep roof. While its structure is relatively simple, its height and requirements for more materials than a shallow roof design can increase its cost significantly. Expect prices for building an A-frame roof to hover around average to slightly above average.
