"I contacted Matthew from Chimney USA LLC @ 757-333-4744. He returned my call promptly to set up an appointment. When Matthew arrived to check my chimney, he was thorough and explained why and where my chimney drafts were coming from. He even went on the roof to ensure the vent above was still in good order. While Matthew was on the roof he noticed a vent pipe that had been eaten by a squirrel. I appreciated all that he did."

"Fantastic customer service! I had a chimney inspection and some service done to replace the dangerously unusable chimney liner. They installed a new flue and now I have the confidence it will last the life of the house. On-budget; under-time estimate; and very great to work with."

"Called the company fter seeing name in angie's magazine, recognized it was a family business, and decided to make appt and came out within week. Indicated on service report that lew PMP crown 10 yr warrenty would cost $375, parge coarses to be solid 165.00per courses x2 coarses; 2 holes in smoke chamber @ no charge; reseal flashing for 100.00 amounting to 804.00. After discount, costs was 723.00. I did not get any pictures of work before and after job was completed.
I did not get an estimate from another company at that time and I know I should have gotten at least three for cost of repairs before starting each project.
They were called out after hurricane sandy to fix leak on chimney where concrete had eroded. This was covered under warranty.

"I had a mixed and bewildering experience. I called to find out why my chimney was leaking into my house. The original worker cancelled the first appointment and came 2 hours late for the second. He described a very simple job and said he would call back the next day. Weeks went by. There was a painting job already scheduled that had to go partially undone because it involved the chimney area. I needed the job done by a deadline because I was having my home inspected for refinancing. They missed the deadline. I finally called the owner who made the worker come out the next day. The worker told me he "lost the measurements"... And never called back! When I explained to the owner the problem he had the job done in 36 hours. He was a good business man, but is hiring some idiots. The problem is, you are playing roulette. Which type of worker will show up?"

"I am extremely pleased with the work done.  The technicians were exceptionally professional and kept me informed about what they were doing all through the process.  They actually did more than expected in replacing the chimney cap damper.  The technician called me a week after performing the work to ask how the fireplace and chimney were performing."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"We had the old roof on our 1800 square foot rancher replaced with architectural style shingles.  This included flashing in all the valleys and water/ice seals around the whole perimeter and the chimney.  We had new rubber seals around all the vents and other openings in the roof, and new ridge vents installed.

"The first time he was supposed to come to look at the roof he did not show up.  When he did come out - I was not able to be there but I let him know that in advance.  He did not really get up on the roof and look at the issues becuase he stated there was a hornets nest on the gutter, so he did not get a good look at one the places we have a leak.  The other area by the chimney he stated there was a football stuck up there that was trapping the water and causing it to leak into the house.  Even after he removed the football we still had the leak.
I ended up having another roofer come up and look at the whole roof and give me a more thorough assessment on what needed to be done.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Ensures safe electrical connections and proper venting, improving kitchen air quality.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

Regular cleaning of filters and checking ducting ensures effective operation.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.
