"I contacted Matthew from Chimney USA LLC @ 757-333-4744. He returned my call promptly to set up an appointment. When Matthew arrived to check my chimney, he was thorough and explained why and where my chimney drafts were coming from. He even went on the roof to ensure the vent above was still in good order. While Matthew was on the roof he noticed a vent pipe that had been eaten by a squirrel. I appreciated all that he did."

"Fantastic customer service! I had a chimney inspection and some service done to replace the dangerously unusable chimney liner. They installed a new flue and now I have the confidence it will last the life of the house. On-budget; under-time estimate; and very great to work with."

"Wow, this is the best, quickest, and most professional service you can ask for.... Precision Chimney came out within about a hour after we contacted them early Saturday morning.  We had a fly problem we noticed coming from the chimney.  Once Precision arrived they quickly located a dead squirrel in the chimney, removed it, fixed the cap at the top so no more squirrels could fall down the chimney again, and cleared out the chimney all within about 30 minutes.  Wow, now I get to enjoy the rest of my Saturday because of the great job done by Precision.  Man you can't beat the price only 149* 30% off= 105.  I have used other chimney services in the past but I will not make that mistake again.  Precision is the chimney service I will use as long as I am a homeowner.  GREAT JOB and I highly recommend them to anyone.

"I had a mixed and bewildering experience. I called to find out why my chimney was leaking into my house. The original worker cancelled the first appointment and came 2 hours late for the second. He described a very simple job and said he would call back the next day. Weeks went by. There was a painting job already scheduled that had to go partially undone because it involved the chimney area. I needed the job done by a deadline because I was having my home inspected for refinancing. They missed the deadline. I finally called the owner who made the worker come out the next day. The worker told me he "lost the measurements"... And never called back! When I explained to the owner the problem he had the job done in 36 hours. He was a good business man, but is hiring some idiots. The problem is, you are playing roulette. Which type of worker will show up?"

"I think that the reason that I went with them is because they got a good rating on Angie's List. The way that they treated me was fine. They were prompt and courteous. The only thing that remains for me to be completely satisfied with their work would be to see that the firebox is working good. The price was a bit of an issue. They charged $600 to replace two panels in the firebox and do a chimney sweep which was okay with me. They then said that the chimney sweep did not get all of the glaze or deposits in the flue but that was also understandable before it's been 15 years and we never had any sweeping done on it. So they have to come again and do what they call a whip action that loosen up the glaze in the flue followed by another chimney sweep and I had to pay $200 for that. They didn't get it all but they said that there's is very very little left and then it wouldn't be a fire hazard."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"We had the old roof on our 1800 square foot rancher replaced with architectural style shingles.  This included flashing in all the valleys and water/ice seals around the whole perimeter and the chimney.  We had new rubber seals around all the vents and other openings in the roof, and new ridge vents installed.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

Yes, professionals can often retrofit models with minimal disruption.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

No, you can’t install just any microwave over your range. You have to get a specific type of microwave known as an over-the-range unit. These include venting and lighting features that you’ll need above your stovetop.

Although countertop units are more affordable, they won’t work for this type of installation. To avoid hazardous conditions in your kitchen, buy the right type of microwave for your needs.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.
