"Unlike another provider whom I did not hire, arrived exactly on time for the site survey. Worksite in Spotslyvania, VA, and I live in Arnold, MD, so about a 2 hr drive for me. Had a firm proposal within 24 hours, install was scheduled that day. On install day, technician arrived exactly on time, following all COVID precautions. Work was completed in slightly less time than he projected. Quality of the work was first rate. Left the house and area surrounding the work - install new heat pump outdoor unit and indoor unit in attic - cleaner than when they started. All three technicians who worked the project were just terrific. Friendly, respectful of the property, very informative. They made sure I understood the improvements they'd made to the ancillary portions of the system (e.g. drain pan and condensate drains from the attic), and worked through the new thermostat details as well. Everyone I'm came in contact with from Advanced Environment Solutions was professional, responsive and were truly interested in making sure I got what I needed. There is one other reason why I would implicitly trust these folks. When the president of the company (John Smith) came out to do the estimate, he carefully explained the various levels of the systems that would match the house. He did NOT try to "upsell" me on a system that was more expensive than the property warranted. He carefully explained the technical benefits of proposed upgrades to the drain systems and the need to install a path from the attic entrance to the interior unit for safety (agreed immediately). I'm a licensed mechanical engineer, and his explanations were complete and accurate. In sum, a highly professional company, exacting standards of technical performance, they listen to their customers and their integrity is unmatched."

"I have used David Ashcom for two mini-split installations and repairs & maintenance on 3 different homes.  They do great work at a very reasonable price.  He is knowledgeable and doesn't try to up sell you on things you don't need.  They also clean up well after the  job is complete.  I will definitely be using this company again in the future.

"Overall, we were VERY impressed with the work done, the price for the work and the end results. The machines are noisy, but there is not much that can be done about that. Expect that if your duct work is more congested than originally noted, it will take longer to get the job done. However, Keith does stay until it is complete. There is no charge for the length of time they are here - he quoted us the price prior to the job and that was the price we paid.

1/3/13: As an addendum to our experience with A-1 Duct Cleaning Services, I offer some advice. Keep a copy of your sales agreement in a place you won't forget - you may need to refer back to it at a later date. If you do purchase the disinfectant part of the service for your ducts, keep close track of the dates (i.e., every three months for example) in order to contact A-1 to set up your appointment for them to come back and perform this service. They will not contact you and remind you.

We did call to have our units disinfected several months later (around August), however only the upstairs unit was sprayed due to my misplacing the sales agreement and A-1 thinking we only paid for one. On Jan. 1, 2013 found the sales agreement showing that both units were to be disinfected and providing the agreement to A-1.

We strongly recommend keeping the sales agreement close at hand and marking on the calendar every three months to contact A-1 to make an appointment for the disinfectant.

"ECR was the first to respond to our septic pump issue. Jeremy was conscientious and worked diligently in bitter 20* weather to get us up and running again. The price quote was a bit of sticker shock but quality parts were installed that have a 3 yr. warranty. I would definitely hire ECR and Jeremy again!"

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.

Coolant and antifreeze are technically not the same thing. The difference between the two is the ratio of water to other chemicals. True antifreeze is mainly made up of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, while coolant comprises one part antifreeze and one part water. However, the terms coolant and antifreeze are often used interchangeably, even by pros.

If you want to have hot water in your home and part of your plumbing system, you'll need a hot water heater. An alternative may be to heat water as you use it, such as by boiling what you need on the stove. But that's much less efficient and takes considerably longer than hooking up a water heater. Another option is to rely on appliances, such as a dishwasher or washing machine, that heat the water themselves.

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

No, boilers and water heaters are not interchangeable because they serve different primary functions. Boilers are used for central heating systems, providing hot water or steam to heat your home. In contrast, a water heater's purpose is to supply hot water for daily household use, such as for faucets and showers. A water heater alone cannot supply the warm water or steam needed for a central heating system.

While they are not interchangeable, it is common to have both a boiler and a water heater. In fact, a conventional boiler often works best when a water heater system is already in place. The two systems can be combined to provide both heating and hot water, either by pairing a boiler with an indirect water heater or by installing a premade combination boiler-water heater unit. For home heating, some homeowners may also opt for a furnace instead of a boiler.
